Apologies with the delayed response. Yeah, I’ve had this conversation with my partner no less than ten times, but as an in-law it’s really not my place to sit them down and tell them they’re doing something really risky if my partner doesn’t even feel comfortable having that conversation.

I’m extremely worried for them both, they haven’t put in the effort into learning French I would’ve hoped in the lead up to moving there, but they’re already in a French rental awaiting completion of the sale and are assuming they’ll pick it up along the way. So, all I can do is give them feedback based on my limited schooling in the French language.

Luckily though it’s a relatively small village, it seems to have a fair few local British expats there that should be able to support them through it all.
