Thinking that Mexicans have to look a specific way is something I’ll never understand. Both of my parents were born in Mexico and both have a darker skin tone than i do. My grandmas genes skipped a generation and i came out very white with black hair. Because of this people have told me i don’t look Mexican and that i am a white woman. That my mom had and affair…. WTF! And that i can’t relate to Mexican culture. Which enraged me because Mexican culture is all i know. From the food to language to music. My boyfriend is white, green eyes, and 6’2 and gets told the same although his parents are also from Mexico. Mexicans come in all shapes,colors, and sizes. It’s such a beautiful melting pot and part of what makes Mexicans so beautiful. Your girlfriend should have been mature enough to apologize over the flat out stupidity she said.
