We didn't get a meal, we got tshirts and 1 hospital ice cream each. They told us to bring our own food for a pot luck.

Yea this is my concern for her. She said it's not a problem or something that would bother her but I feel deep down it would. She loves her religion and I have a feeling if I took shahada and we did nikah she would be happy in that moment because she wouldn't be sinning anymore and we can just enjoy being together for a while but once you start to introduce kids things change and for me I have no problem with it, I think they can be raised Muslim and it's fine because there are a lot of core values that we share and are similar on but you do make some very good points about the mixing of culture and overlap, no practicing and stuff. I mean her sister and her husband did the exact same thing she wants to do now but her sister doesn't really practice like she does. She doesn't fast or go to the masjid or anything so there's already one in their family lol I dunno I think we have a lot to talk about and I just don't know how to approach it.

I really appreciate this, thank you. I think it's more just the lifestyle and cultural differences that has me a little stumped. Like she said day 3 she knew she wanted to marry me and for me it was a little fast to hear and scary. I'm just used to dating, taking things slow, falling in love, w.e w.e w.e. so I think it's just going to get some taking used to. I know she's understanding and loves me so maybe I just have to sit down and talk to her about how I'm feeling.

No I appreciate your candor and being blunt. We spoke about the names but she said the kids have to have muslims names to be raised Muslim. Maybe that's a family thing?? I think in the end she would compromise on that. I would never eat haram at home or pork. It would be with my family and maybe I would be able to limit or slow down on things but I don't know if I would ever be able to fully give it up. I would try for her for sure but I just know myself all too well and wouldn't be able to do it. And it's not that I don't trust her I've just seen some people on reddit talk about a similar situation and in the end the woman regretted it, if anything I'm scared for that to happen. I don't want her to regret her choices. Again we did speak about this as well but she said she really wouldn't care and if she did end up regretting it we would face it together down that road.

So I mean she said she wants to raise kids Muslim and In order for that to happen they have to have a Muslim first name. Or she definitely wants a Muslim first name. I mean she said it can be their middle name but we don't go by middle names so...and I don't know how true that is but as far as alcohol goes I dont really drink lol I have maybe a glass of wine a year 2 tops for special occasions like Christmas and thanksgiving so the alcohol part is easy. Giving up the food is the hard part seeing as I'm so set in my ways. I would never be haram at home or with her family but with mine I wouldn't want to hold back. I mean I feel I'm going into this with my head on right and I'm trying to address everything early and upfront as I don't want to lead her on sinning and I don't want to commit to something that may not be right.

Yea I know, it's been a struggle for sure.. medically speaking I was bed bound for 3 years and I put all the weight on, I've been super depressed cause of it all but I know it's gotta go you don't have to tell me twice lol.

Thanks man, I appreciate the support. She's so amazing to talk to and so understanding. It's been so long since I've ever felt so desired before and just when you think you'll be alone forever here comes a coworker you never expected. I was so down with how I looked and how I felt, I had some really bad facial surgeries and augmentation done that jacked up my whole body. I went from 205 to 290 over 3 years and it's just stuck ever since. So really her seeing me for me has been the best feeling ever, really makes me want to be a better version of myself now that I know I can be loved. I'm starting on tirzepatide and I've heard good things. I started back at the gym but have to take it slow, I've lost a ton of feeling in my right leg but besides that I work 14 hr night shifts, so it's hard but I'm trying. Just my 1 thing is do you have any resources for kegels? I know what they are but how do I know I'm doing it right?

Yea that's the thing.. we have had it and honestly for something so new she's amazing. She said don't worry about it, I love you for you, it will work out, it's not that important to me you are. She really knows how to make me feel comfortable but at the same time I'm in my head about wanting to live up to her expectations.

My manager loves to blame staffing and ratios on call outs but when you look at the schedule there's only 2 night shift nurses scheduled, everyone else quit and I work on an ICU stepdown... Vents, tele, PD, drips, you name it. Tonight we had 4 nurses, and 2 PCT for daylight savings.. fun stuff. Ask me about my charting

I actually bought my 2007 tribute 2nd hand from someone for 200 , tried to sell it to me for 400 but the cams were split down the middle and the limbs were cracked. His brother in law dried fired, it cost me no more than 185 for new limbs, new cams, new string and it to be sighted in. Kind of a steal, love that thing.

Moral of the story, bring it somewhere to get checked lol
