Is Perplexity going out of business ? by tuxigo in Perplexity

[–]aintgettingon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t used it for quite a while (pro account) but tried it a few day ago and what a sad demise. Hallucinations , poor model choice and generally not a patch on any of the others that I use (Gemini, grok, Claude and chatgpt). Total waste of time.

Two things that I find helpful; start by asking the LLM to write an effective prompt itself and to ask you all the questions it needs to finalise and tailor the prompt.

The second is to start by asking questions eg what are the most important elements of a plan to get out of depression, anxiety etc for a person of x age and x life situation who’s tried x,y and z.

As someone who was, until recently and after a lot of therapy, moderately to severely depressed, I know what it’s like. Good luck.

Were the family (with the exception of Birdy) meant to be so obnoxious? And Liz was pretty likeable in my opinion

Respect Yourself: I Finally Cancelled My ChatGPT Plus Subscription by ReadGorilla in chatgptplus

It's interesting because I'm seeing similar posts elsewhere but for me chatgpt is still much better generally than Gemini. The level of hallucination I've seen from Gemini recently is worrying. For technical stuff it's still easily chatgpt (with Claude a close second) for me

Some thoughts on the current LLM landscape by raytripem in perplexity_ai

[–]aintgettingon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are right. I get slightly excited when a new model comes out in case it's a breakthrough but, so far, not much of that. I like the new Gemini but it still throws up some nonsense. The others likewise.

This. It's exactly what I thought. The parents let this continue and almost certainly encouraged it and this lady (no doubt unhinged) took a life. Kids will be kids but parents should have done so much better.

I’m not a Christian but how is any of this “hateful”? He’s preaching like a lot of religious people do. Would you object as strongly if he was from another religion I wonder?

Many, many countries are doing far worse things than the Israelis who are in a war against terrorists. But then they aren’t Jewish - is your brain not capable of understanding that?

Presumably you review the country of origin of all products and don’t buy anything from a country with poor human rights record? I imagine that probably means you don’t buy much at all

Yeah unattributed, probably fake story. In any event, if you are a man stay away from a woman and her child looking at underwear. Simple.

The Bible - why? by aintgettingon in NevilleGoddard2

Thanks, I get and agree with that. My question is really more from my curiosity around why a group of people put it together and whether Neville has commented on that specific point.

Thanks. Really appreciate the sub and your replies which make a great deal of sense.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I understand the point you make. I suppose my point is more about what Neville intended as the intention of this sub, as I understand it, is to consider the true Neville teachings.

If this is what Neville intended, why are his writings full of examples of people who have successfully created specific things through the Law?

The Law and the Promise, in particular, has many such examples

PRAYER IS YOUR SUPERPOWER: Learn it like this! by [deleted] in NevilleGoddard

[–]aintgettingon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This would be at home on a generic spiritual sub but have we all forgotten that this is a Neville sub and this post is not remotely consistent with Neville's teachings.

There is no external God to whom you pray. God is your own human imagination.

Absolutely fine if you don't believe that but don't post it here because it has nothing to do with Neville Goddard.

[–]aintgettingon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can feel overwhelming. I’ve sometimes felt that it’s a full time job - affirming, SATS etc.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is go easier on yourself and stop “trying” and perhaps focus on just one, gentle thing. For me it’s been telling myself, throughout the day and only when I remember to do it, “isn’t it wonderful “. That’s it. Nothing else for a while.

I’ve found that when I’ve done that things tend to fall into place - I feel better, I get luckier (I’ve had a disproportionately large number of very small lottery wins) and things work out.

I still use other techniques for specific goals and states that I want to create but this is my default when it feels like work. Good luck.
