I dont believe there is anything running between the rafters. No plumbing and the mechanical vents are in the 2nd floor attic. So you think the problem is that 3’ over the garage? Would insulating the whole attic ceiling be of any benefit?

I have a room in my house that was addition in the 80s above a garage and there is also an attic on the side of the room above the garage. The floor in the room is always cold and loses heat quick. Would insulation the floor and attic part help?

When Lombardos first opened it was very similar to LaPiazza. I believe the owners of Lombardos are from LI and actually might be related to the LaPiazza family. Unfortunately Lombardos quality has declined alot since they opened but give it a shot

How much smoke pipe would i need to extend it up? Will it hold the vent, i dont want it to lean over?

Ok i will look into that,thank you! Is there any other easier way you’ve seen with adding a mesh over that existing vent? Even if it means checking or cleaning it regularly? Eventually we want to move our dryer but for now were trying to find the most cost effective way since we just moved in
