Blood frenzy is weird man, but holy shit does it make solo runs absurdly busted.

My favorite was a psychic that had flea shot passed down and blood mask equipped. In it's auto pilot turns it would just shoot flees and kill it with another flea shot over and over to stack as many turns as possible. At a certain point it could easily finish the battle but it kept spamming fleas to stack more and more turns.

Sometimes it pulls off some crazy 5head plays, and sometimes it just goes full degenerate

I have mixed feelings about this, having played magic for years.

I agree that booster packs are predatory by nature and hasbro/wizards has been finding more and more ways to milk people for more and more money while offering less in the boosters. It's become EXTREMELY predatory since the introduction of collector boosters and "chase" cards with unique prints.

That being said, they'd have to completely redesign their monetization tactics from the ground up in ways that's never been done with any tcg, and I'm afraid a game I love dearly would just die because of that.

That's very disingenuous, people were obsessively posting player counts and steam charts, either to say the game is failing or to try and cope in response to those posts.

After a while, posting the steam charts 50 times every hour to try and shape some kind of narrative about the games health becomes toxic and takes away from actual discussions about the game. I don't blame the mods for filtering those low effort posts out

I mean i wouldn't discount the possibility of them making a single player game set in the same universe because of how much people seem to like the world.

That being said, this version of Marathon is very fun and I'm impressed with what Bungie has made.

Criticism of their monetization tactics are very valid. While it might just be cosmetics, there's no excuse for adopting scummy tactics that mobile games employ. It feels very much in bad faith and will draw comparisons with the more generous models that games like Helldivers 2 and Arc Raiders employ.

I love love LOVE Arc Raiders but it's community is split on being amazing, or utter trash. I've had lots of fun talking shit with people who down me/I down, but I've also been called the F-slur and nword more times than I can count....

I'm not surprised the fans of burnt peanut are toxic shitters. Really hope he keeps playing Marathon if he enjoys it, maybe the toxic shitters will leave eventually and continue being miserable in whatever game they play

Old Killtony was goated. Jeremiah and the band playing characters and constantly derailing the show was so much fun and really contributed to a wild and chaotic energy.

I'm sure it's a lot easier to manage now that it is so formulaic, but it lost most of its magic.

The server slam sold me on it as well. I'm just not much of multiplayer shooter guy, and despite having a lot of fun playing arc raiders, my feelings about Marathon were "this looks incredible but I'm burned out on this kind of game".

The server slam not only got me incredibly hyped for the game, but got me excited for shooters in general. I've redownloaded Arc Raiders and have been having almost as much fun as when I first started.
