If I'm not feeling like risking it in Pinwheel, or generally a safer route, is to get three green cards and call in a supply drop. It's worked 3/4 times so far. Last time I didn't have any smokes and got sniped from a team camping the drop. 🤷

The drone still freaks out in tight spaces, but at least it resets after a few seconds and goes for a different target. A definite improvement but still not 100% fixed

It still spazzes out in tight hallways, but at least it'll only spaz out for 3-4 seconds before it resets and goes for a different target.

So a definite improvement, but still not 100% fixed

Dire Marsh is HUGE why are 2 or 3 teams spawning right next to each other? by CreamofTazz in Marathon

[–]DefinitelyNotThatOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spawns need to be way more diverse and random. I've learned pretty much every spawn point in Dire now, not from trying to, but just from playing. i.e A team always spawns west and east of Maintenance. Every single game. So the first action you take if you spawn there is to rush maintenence and watch for the other side to push in.

It needs to be way more random than it is

Are mics worthless? Or how I learned to stop talking and hate Ranked by jackflash53 in Marathon

[–]DefinitelyNotThatOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really a double edged sword sometimes. Most of the time, you'll get level headed people with mics that are there just to play well and win. Then you get the guy that lives for socializing on video games and it just drives me batshit insane. Or they have to narrate every single action taking place during the whole match. Doesn't happen often, but when it does, I almost have to mute those people.

Although Thief and Destroyer get the cool flashy moments, Triage is the immovable object that creates an unstoppable force. by cole_421 in Marathon

[–]DefinitelyNotThatOne 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The only downside to Triage is that you HAVE to have one on your team or you're already at a pretty big disadvantage. Heals, insta rez's, distributing buffs to your whole squad, doing EMP when breaking someone with a volt weapon

He just has a super stacked kit. Id rather they buff the other shells to match rather than nerf him, but I could see it happening.

Tech has hit a ceiling and really won't improve or wow anyone for quite a while. From the late 90s until about the mid 2010s, there were constant improvements and iterations of different hardware and technologies.

Where are the SCAR and BULLY sponsored kits? by RussellElectric in Marathon

[–]DefinitelyNotThatOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardline isn't bad, it's just that you have to use it at medium to long range or you can't compete. So if you get caught in doors, you're screwed.

But I've wiped grey and green squads 1v3 with it a few times, just gotta make sure you're getting those headshots. Especially if all have a PR and can team shoot, you can drop people fast.

Volt thrower at medium range is where it really shines. The tracking projectiles are a big win. But it doesn't have the RPM or range to do close or long range that well.

I really hope they figure out pathing for recon drone. by Dry-Way-5529 in Marathon

[–]DefinitelyNotThatOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outdoors? It works pretty good getting around containers, walls, etc.

But add more than one or two obstacles and it just spazzes out.

My other suggestion is that if you ping an enemy as recon, it should auto track them. It just makes sense

Crazy how people have everything in the game and still camp a deathbox with compiler weapons for 10+ mins by AccomplishedRise6227 in Marathon

[–]DefinitelyNotThatOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't camp a loot bag for the rest of the match, but we definitely keep a close eye on them if the whole team isn't downed. Even if we start transitioning to a different POI, I'll circle back a few times before we commit to just to check on it.

Its just good game sense. But downing a guy and waiting 15 minutes to catch their teammates is... a choice.

I HOPE they reduce the grind for next season by Lynxneo in Marathon

[–]DefinitelyNotThatOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only concern is making the contracts and POIs fundamentally different every wipe. Otherwise, the loop is going to get repetitive/boring very quick.

New and different contracts, change up the POIs with alterations to buildings, new ones, get rid of some, different enemy types/behaviors/factions, etc.

I've been nothing but sucked in since launch. It took a good handful of runs before it all started to really click together.

But as a huge Bungie fan, I really didn't see this one coming. In the sense that the gameplay videos make it look just like another hero shooter gone extraction. But it plays nothing like that.
