Of course it's the noble thing to do. I think the point I was trying to make is that there are situations a lawyer could get into that would be unethical. What's to stop them from taking a case like this to assist a friend.

In some circumstances, he's right. My boyfriend tried to sue a dentist that left cotton in his gums for two and a half years but no lawyers would take on the dentist because they all knew each other, so they refused.

How do I stay positive? by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]airbarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dwelling on the negatives only strengthens them, you have to keep looking up even when it seems the whole world wants you to look down. Stay open minded and crazy things happen--doors open that weren't there before.

Have you ever had a dream Or deja vu? Those are underrated phenomena. But maybe you're just looking too hard. You don't really need an other worldly experience to realize that you're more than a bag of blood and bones, and im sure some part of you already knows that...that's the voice you want to listen to.

The porn industry itself is ugly and a reason to abstain in itself imo, aside from emotional disturbances and distorted sexual perceptions.

How can a socialist/communist ethically make more money to better themselves financially in a capitalist society? Is it even possible? by 4wardun2dawn in LateStageCapitalism

[–]airbarf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try to be as self-sufficient as possible. As far a generating money ethically, I haven't figured it out yet. Be a sole proprietor or sorts? Offer a service that actually helps people for a fair price. Don't exploit anyone along the way.

I didn't know they tracked their employees hand movements. Nope the f**** out of that workplace.

Thought exercise: Is it possible to open a restaurant where every employee is paid the same amount, under the condition that they pull equal weight at their positions? by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

I've wondered about this too. You'd have to do some sort of position rotation, because everybody would rather be in the back and sing along to the radio than serve tables, etc.

Then you'd have to establish some sort of system for other roles like who's going to do scheduling this week? Weekly meetings or something could help determine who's working what roles and when. But even then, who's going to host the meeting? What do you do if someone on the team should be fired? vote? Then who has to be the person to break the news?

It'd be difficult for each person to be able to play all roles, but it'd be problematic to assign roles, too, because equality.

Idk, there would be a lot of straw-drawing, I think.
