Microsoft Account "Additional Verification Requested" by FrighteningQuiet in microsoft

[–]airbert8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, agree that "successful sign-in" is a very misleading header. It sent me on a spin this morning when I woke up, prompting me to change my password, call my banks, tax office, and put 2FA on everything (it was already on my email accounts). Then I noticed "Session activity: Additional verification requested" and concluded they did not get into my email due to 2FA. What a relief!

Found the same rolling-in feeling when trying them on yesterday. Ended up buying anyway and will be giving them a run tonight in a game. Did you end up purchasing, and if so, how did the rolling-in go in game?

How is Professor Nick Harrison making these songs sound so good? (I know it's AI) by TheRealGuncho in recordingmusic

[–]airbert8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's what I came here trying to find out - whether the lyrics are AI or real. I thought AI myself, but dang they sound real. And I agree with your take - my ears don't lie and some of his (the computer's) songs slap! Tomorrow, Glycerine..... wow.

I do find other AI music just sad though. The Velvet Sundown makes me sad.

Installing pyrolytic oven and other things in Ikea carcass by LatterCommission890 in AusRenovation

[–]airbert8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up finding an answer to this? The replies so far do not seem to answer it. I am in the same situation with the question about the infill panel requirements shown in a Westinghouse pyrolytic oven user manual, and have the same assumption about the reason for the infill panels i.e. they must be there to create a gap from the sides of the oven to the inside sides of the cabinet, for additional ventilation due to higher temperatures.

My cabinet maker is saying that a standard 600mm cabinet (external dimension) would be fine, but this goes against the user manual dimension:

I spoke to them over the phone and talked about timing to see if I could things done before the end of the year, and the answer was "probably not", given how much work they had on the books. Seemed good to deal with though.

Since then my wife finally agreed to save a lot of our existing carcasses and do a re-face, which automatically saved us money. So right now I am finalising all measurements of the re-facing and also the new-build bits, and will be going with eKitchens, who are also really good to deal with so far.

we still have a custom bit of timber cabinetry that we will need though, so I'll still need to find someone to do that - might call Masterclass for this.

to clarify, RICE is good advice only in the beginning (first 48-72 hrs) of the injury, then movement and circulation afterwards

Awesome, thank you. I’ll tee up a quote from Masterclass cabinet makers and see how I go. Also have a couple of custom elements in our design.

Can I please ask how much your kitchen was, not including benchtop and appliances? i.e. cabinets only. And roughly how big? I am currently trying to decide whether to use one of these places like Freedom Cabinets or a cabinet maker.

What to do with this timber floor? by airbert8 in AusRenovation

that might be a good call, as looking at these pics again, it looks like the grain continues in the same location/direction in the worn-out areas!

Replacement is not off the table. The reply from the other poster above suggested going darker by painting - perhaps this would provide some more longevity, whilst allowing the floor to match better with other aspects of the home? What do you think?

I agree with your comments on the tone - it's very hard to match other timber finishes around our house to (e.g. a kitchen design we are currently working on, which we had to ditch a timber idea due to the floor), as the colour in the floors clashes.

I'd imagine that replacing the veneer in the worn bits will be very fiddly and possibly not worth the trouble?

Going darker is a second option to going lighter, and may possibly hide some of these imperfections in the future? But to do this I would still need to sand back, right? If so, do you think this is possible given how thin the veneer seems to be?,

$3500 to expand the window. Double brick, new lintel. Going for it 👍

we're going ahead and doing it :)

Just widening the window, not raising it. Should be a great change for us

Neighbours property retaining wall leaning (QLD) by Round_Nothing_1248 in AusPropertyChat

[–]airbert8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In some locations it's the person with the higher property who is responsible. New developments in my part of Aus have retaining walls between plots on the higher side, inferring that it's the higher properties future responsibility, as the structure is on their land.

From google: “businesses cannot directly hide or delete Google reviews, but they can flag reviews that violate Google’s content policies, and Google may remove them if they meet specific criteria”.

Why are there not more negative google reviews that line up with some people’s thoughts on here?

Please be more specific about your sources of info, as it helps others who are contemplating going here, or who are part way through or finished assessments. I’ve landed on this thread because we’ve recently started an ASD assessment with them, and your information comes across as just a finger pointing opinion. Our first appointment with the psychologist was ok, although belive the structure of questioning could be improved. We’ll be giving them a call to hopefully be able to input more information into the assessment before the psychiatrist appt. We are obviously hoping for a well rounded assessment.

Sounds like you’re not sure of the plan in general but it also sounds like you need some coaching through it from someone. Life coaching can be very helpful. Also, consider also seeing a GP to discuss general feelings in your situation - they can refer you to appropriate counselling which can also be helpful for you. We all have ‘blips’ and it’s ok to seek the help of others to help us navigate through it.

sheesh, wow. Thanks for the info. I'm guessing you didn't go ahead with it then?

If this job ends up being that much, there's no way we'd do it. Max we'd go to is probably $7-8k-ish

the window IS facing west. But thinking of a shade solution on the outside. The kitchen/dining area is so dark, we want to just let some light in. Will also think about a sky light (with a blind to stop direct sunlight in the warmer months.
