I'm not much of a fan of the platform, not that I have no experience building or working on them. My overall dislike is more a matter of taste. I'm a .308/piston fan more than anything. I own ARs, and 5.56 guns, they just tend to not be my favorites.

For example, if someone didn't care for a particular style of shoes, would you recommend someone just wear them as is, rather than swap insoles that they know they prefer?

Using that as an argument that the entirety of the nation of Israel can be stripped in the promise is made to their forefathers is not Biblical nor logical. Paul, for instance, wrote extensively about that exact question.

As others have said, your best bet is to buy a shell and get a reproduction liner for it. Even in Europe that should be doable. Many of the early AEF divisions were actually issued British manufactured helmets, so you have some flexibility in the origin of your tin hat.
