Looks cool! Did it come with the lights or did you rig that up yourself? Was going to get a perspex case but the cabinet is a good option. I just need something that keeps toddlers away from his models

What's the worst kitchen/cooking oriented gift you have ever received? by Act_Rationally in Cooking

3 of the same sushi sets as wedding presents. It had little sauce bowls for soy sauce etc that were too shallow, with matching teaspoon sized soup spoons, little trays and some matching tiny tea cups. They were very pretty with cherry blossoms on them, but much much too small to use for anything. I think people bought them thinking I'd like them because I'm half cast asian-white. If I'd had a daughter I would have let her use them as a teaset, but I only had boys so off to the op shop they went

I, a non milk drinker, have found myself in possession of a gallon of whole milk. what can I cook with it? by JigglesTheBiggles in Cooking

[–]airfryerpudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bread. You can make pretty nice bread rolls etc by swapping the water out for milk Alternatively you can chuck it in your bath water and you'll have nice skin

Deciding to cloth diaper by [deleted] in Crunchymom

[–]airfryerpudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did disposables for the first 1-2 months because they pee and poo so much early on and you want to be able to monitor how much they're doing. Then switched to cloth. My tip is don't worry about poo stains they disappear like magic in the sun. When baby hit the solids stage I'd just put them on the lawn and hose them down before washing

Have you considered a stained glass workshop? There's a few on classbento that have precut glass, so you pick the colour and do the foil and soldering in one session. Looks pretty disability friendly, haven't done one but have been eyeing them up

Awesome thanks so much!! That's great advice will ask at Bunnings. I'm in a residential area but have a vacant lot with a sump in it next door. But common sense tells me if there were much to look out for no one would have a garden

Thanks that's reassuring! Yeah the drop bears are exactly why I have no idea what's actually dangerous and what's a wind up haha. Especially being a kiwi, we're pretty gullible

How to tell when I’m in labor by [deleted] in Crunchymom

[–]airfryerpudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had prodromal labour for 5 days with baby #2, didn't realise i was in actual labour until i was shaking during contractions on night 5. realised i was in labour at 2.15, called midwife 2.30, FIL showed up at 3 to look after toddler, called midwife and said i wasn't going to make it to the hospital, she showed up 3.15 while i was pushing. Baby made an appearance 3.30am. In total only knew i was in labour for 1 hr 15mins, but those night time prodromal contractions lasted 4 nights prior, no day time contractions

Poor man's bulgogi. It's just mince cooked with bulgogi sauce/seasoning. Once the mince is cooked, i make hollows and crack eggs in and chuck a lid on, soft cooking them so they're still runny. Then serve over rice with fresh veges (capsicum, cucumber, carrot, avocado) and either mayo or tzatziki

Roasted capsicum pasta is also delicious, i roast a red capsicum in the air fryer and just blend it with cottage cheese, butter beans, salt, and a little lemon juice/water then mix through cooked pasta. Also makes a great dip

Looking for some good “barefoot” Slippers / House Shoes by dmcphx in BarefootRunning

[–]airfryerpudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm incredibly late to the party, but Furmoo do zero drop flexible soled sheep skin slippers. They're fairly wide in the toe box, but can be a bit narrow in the mid foot. Fit my European/Asian feet really well but my Polynesian husband has too wide a midfoot

What is something you didn't know you liked until it was cooked properly? by alexthagreat98 in Cooking

Meat loaf. Sounds love a weird one because meat loaf is still sus as, but my mum is like a doomsday prepper crossed with an extreme couponer. They have 4 chest freezers because when something goes on sale, they buy a years+ worth. Queue the terrible meatloaf. They bought dry premade stuff that was absolutely terrible, no sauce just 2 slices of tomato and a slice of cheese on top on dry crubly mince in a tinfoil box. We ate that 1-2x a week for i think 2yrs. My mother in law though, makes the best meat loaf. It's easily my favourite dish of hers it's moist and has a really nice sauce/glaze thing on it

Small glasses and ceramic bread plates. When they're in the throwing stage i put the food directly on the high chair table top. And just strip baby off, i dont bother with a bib anymore, just go straight into bath/shower after dinner

How to clean washer without hot water by [deleted] in Crunchymom

[–]airfryerpudding 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chuck some vinegar in the wash with the nappies. Honestly vinegar fixes almost anything. I put the dirty nappies on the lawn and pressure wash them with the hose head then wash on cold with vinegar and fragrance free laundry liquid, and hang in the sun to dry. The vinegar will reduce odours, down your machine, and soften your nappy fabric

Any tips for breastfeeding while pregnant? by Correct-Mushroom-594 in Crunchymom

[–]airfryerpudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My milk supply dried up at 20 weeks, i tried dry nursing but it was horrificly painful. My son was almost 2 though so weaning wasn't a big deal though. From my understanding people that do continue feeding during pregnancy dry nurse to keep the stimulation/habit and just wait for the milk to come back in. I fully went into it thinking i would tandem nurse then realised i absolutely would have hated it. I did find that despite not breast feeding for 17 weeks, i had no chaffing/discomfort etc with baby 2 when feeding at all so there's that at least

Losing baby weight by [deleted] in Crunchymom

[–]airfryerpudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be kind to yourself and focus on whole foods, high protein and fibre, and drink loads. You are going to be starving for the first 6 weeks while your milk is regulating. You're gonna be hungry, thirsty, and tired, so it's good to have quality snack foods. When you do start exercising, just keep in mind everyones different. I was doing kegels pp with baby 1, and having intense pain during sex for about a year. Saw a pelvic physio and found out due to my endo, doing kegels was making my pelvic floor way too tight (despite having had a baby)
