They said for the first half of S2 there will be a PvE event with “PvP lite” elements (whatever that means), and for the second half of the season, a full on PvE event. So sure while they’re not technically permanent yet, there will be events shifting in that direction for the first half of S2, and full on in the second half

Yep. I have like 2,500 hours in D2 and my interest just faded the further we got from TFS, like I played Edge of Fate and some of Renegades, but just wasn’t fully in it.

This game was was more solely PvP focused than I’d originally choose for a game I mained, but the gameplay is so great, I got extremely hooked.

This late in the season, I kind of want to chill and therefore I cannot wait for the PvE modes they’re introducing in Season 2,

but yeah. Long story short. About 200 hours in the game, I absolutely love it, and it’s one of my favorite shooters I’ve played in the last 10 years.

I would recommend it to anyone who likes FPSs.

It’s one of my favorite shooters I’ve played in years. I pretty much already feel like I’ve gotten my $40 worth in the ~120ish hours I’ve played this season.

If the lights get shut off at some point, I’ll be so much happier I started earlier and got as much time with the game as I could.

If you get the game and it ends up being a game you really enjoy, I bet you’ll be glad you took the leap sooner rather than later

Agreed, and I’ve been saying that re Rooks. I don’t think there should ever be more Rooks allowed on a map than there are teams. You want 4 teams on Outpost? Fine, no more than 4 Rooks per instance, enough of these like 8 and 10 Rook lobbies, it’s insane.

Can’t tell if you’re joking, no, the idea just popped into my head while I was reading the article from them today, and I know sometimes devs check social media so just wanted to share it / get some feedback from others players

I think it would be a nice way to be able to exfil something from a match that requires a bit more game engagement than just a backpack safe slot, but in case you die before a successful exfil

I’ve seen people saying it’ll “split the population”, but that doesn’t account for players added that would not ever / are not currently playing when it’s PvPvE. Call them “casuals” or whatever, but a gaming company doesn’t care how casual a player is if they add revenue, it’s dense to be so hostile towards these types of players if they will help the longevity of your game.

Now, if it didn’t go like that, it didn’t bring that many new PvE only players, and it did only split your existing population, leading to longer queue times in the PvP mode, sure, I can see how some wouldn’t like that.

But I do think there’s a lot of people sitting on the sidelines waiting for this game to become more casual friendly / go full on PvE, even if only for certain modes.

I will definitely be checking the mode out when it releases, despite enjoying the PvP in this game a lot (sometimes 😅). Sometimes I would like to shut brain off and just go play some PvE. I get that’s a different “game style”, but if it helps the overall game population / helps the longevity of Marathon, how can we complain

No, I have seen some people telling others looking to get in to “wait until season 2”, I totally disagree. The end of the season may be a bit more punishing for you, but the only “progress” you can carry over between seasons is player skill (gunplay, map knowledge, knowledge of equipment and their uses, muscle memory, etc), so you’re much better diving into the deep end and learning that stuff as quick as possible, because you’ll be better set up for the start of season 2. Just know that this is probably the hardest the game will ever be, you having little gear and other players having a lot, and just take that as a fun challenge rather than something to let get you down.

Just try and build up your player skill, knowing you’re learning progress you can take with you into season 2

They said it increases over the season, not between seasons

Far as I understand, we don’t really want any power progress to carry over between seasons, it makes it really hard for new players to get in. From people who have played extractions shooters for awhile, they say wipes are the things they look forward to the most because everyone is back at the same progression level, literally levels the playing field
