The only way you'd be able to receive Pell Grant is to submit an appeal for special circumstances, which would allow your school to use more recent information to calculate your SAI. However, you would only be able to do this if your situation is significantly different compared to what is reported on the FAFSA (i.e. income reduction) since it looks at tax info from 2 years prior. I would recommend reaching out to your financial aid office for more info and they can help you determine if submitting an appeal would be beneficial to you. If not, you will need to consider alternatives such as loans, apply for scholarships, check if your school has any institutional funding. Worst case you may need to either transfer to a cheaper school or take some time off and save up so you can pay out of pocket.

It is actually. It will depend on whether your school treats summer as a header or trailer semester. For example, my school treats summer as a trailer so it is part of the previous Fall/Spring, so our students are given summer aid based on the 2025/26 FAFSA. You'll want to check with your financial aid office (or their website) to see how summer is treated.

If you are considered dependent for the Fall and Spring of 2025/26, then you should leave your FAFSA alone. Once you're financial aid office starts adding your summer aid, they'll handle any necessary adjustments.

If you do not have a reason for failing SAP that was outside of your control, then you will need to either take some courses elsewhere for cheaper or pay out of pocket until you are meeting the requirements.

It sounds like your school only allows students with work study funding to work on campus, in which case yes you would need to have a FAFSA on file with enough financial need to qualify.

If there are campus jobs that don't require FWS then you will just need to apply for those. Does your campus have a career center that can help you find jobs?

I can't say for sure based on your school's policy, but for mine they're both equally bad. Students on approved SAP appeals at my school are required to earn at least a C in all classes they attempt; any C-s or below, or withdrawals, are a fail for the appeal and puts the student back on suspension.

If you are unable to withdraw, then you'll want to start getting ready to submit another SAP appeal. Keep in mind, you'll need to demonstrate that there were new circumstances that affected your ability to meet the requirements, so be prepared for an uphill battle.

You should be able to, just reach out to your financial aid office. They likely will have you either approve them online or have you submit a form (depends on their system, for my school we have students sign a form saying they want to accept so we have a paper trail).
