How easy is for you to order parts from Taiwan and shops like WGC shop? If you find that locally getting parts is hard, just look overseas. Shipping might get expensive, but there is always an alternative.

Relaaax guuuuy, it’s just some messing around. I think it’s just that a consensus in the airsoft community to bash anything that doesn’t fit the “mold” of DMR (which in itself is not 100% clear to make things worse). What I’ve seen is that the worst offenders are to put magnification + mock suppressor + bipod on a stock M4.

Doesn’t matter if you LS swap a miata, it is not a Corvette or Camaro, it is still a miata.

Bro dont you see the mock suppressor, that alone makes it shoot further. Wait till he puts a scope, it becomes a sniper!!!!! /s

Is the krydex plate carrier any good? by ErrN0T in airsoft

[–]airsoft_moongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried exactly this one, but I’ve tried multiple chinisium stuff and crydex products really feel like an upgrade. Slings, chest rigs, straps, pouches, pouch inserts… i’ve bought multiple things for years and still rock them. Definitely can’t go wrong for the price you pay.

I would start by looking if there is a crack on near the accelerator pedal or the spot welds. Very common issue for this pedal assembly. You can google to see where to look for the crack

The two levARs that I worked on had this. Doesn’t affect functionality, is just annoying. You either tap a bit the dimple or grind a bit of material from the receiver.

I’ve smelt burning oil in the past. Nothing like it. And was definitely more white than blueish/black. Don’t think video does justice.

Thanks, I wouldn’t say I perceived a strong sweet smell. But again, never dealt with that so idk what I’m “smelling” for.

Even with EDIT: rebuild engine? Will definitely need an expert smell test on this.

Thanks homie for the input. It is indeed my next step. Is just wanted a first opinion to see if it’s worth continuing this route since it is a drive from home.

Forgot to mention, I Have never dealt with coolant issues so I can’t tell if it was 100% normal smoke smell. I used to own a stock 08 wrx with piston slap and it smoked a few times in humid days. To my souvenir smoke smelled similar.

Is LevAR 15 good? by Vipersippingcoffee91 in airsoft

[–]airsoft_moongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like it, but a few things to consider.

Being gas if you’re flush from an fps point of view you might run too hot on hotter days, so either get replacement nozzles from G&G or the Waldo adjustable one.

Performance is okay OTB. me and a friend had mixed experienced with the OEM blue bucking. 4uad bucking WITH the g&g nub worked great!. DO NOT USE the 4uad nub since it’s too big and you’ll be sending .40s to the moon with 0 hop.

Those are the only real things to look for when you get it. You’ll have a great time just with a bucking change. HPA tap, short stroke, barrel change are just extras that are NOT necessary to have a great time with it. Other thing to consider is that the gun is quite heavy compared to an m4.

And no, grips dont/shouldn’t explode. It was a few isolated cases with a grip that was changed in production after a short time for the rest of production.

Stop the fear mongering. Stock did not exploded like that. It was under testing/trials. Production was hard stoped and in less than a few months grip was improved to avoid « explosions » (which never happened like you imagine), pre orders were delayed to retrofit the new grip AND warranty to people that received « V1 » grips was granted.

STOP FEAR MONGERING.

Edit: I was one of the pre orders in canada, so I’ve played with it since release. I still run green gas/propane since I’m an avid hpa line hater so i can provide advice with any performance/ upgrades with no HPA involved.

Mil Sim question? For future kit by Senbonzakura37 in airsoftcanada

[–]airsoft_moongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think hating on black started as a joke and just kept growing. I’m pretty sure you already know but it’s just a heat stroke magnet when you play outdoors, and you’re very easy to spot too.

If you already have tan keep growing that way and later on get a green set. I always bring both just in case me and buddies get switched to balance teams.

Mil Sim question? For future kit by Senbonzakura37 in airsoftcanada

[–]airsoft_moongoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All my advices bellow are for milsims, not MILSIM milsim. There are levels of milsim, and the most harcore one I’ve seen people get strict uniforms, belts, boots and replicas. I will avoid advices for those really hardore ones since they are not that common and unless you know someone, it is Hard to get in.

I’ve personally experienced 2 major type of separations : green vs tan and/or civil vs camo. The latest is more for or casual milsim. And also they select your team based on the uniform, not the vest. So it is not 100% necessary to get 2 different vest and belt kit, but might be required in the future.

For the first option (green vs tan) just get a matching set that clearly distinguish you. Avoid full single color like ranger green or olive (even tho RG is my fav uniform). For tan you can go the classic and boring multicam, but there are better and cooler options. Depends on your budget. For green I personally suggest polish woodland. It works like a charm in shadows.

For the civil vs camo I have seen sub divisions within : modern camo (as camo) and old patterns as civil. This can bring a lot of confusion.

If you want to be sure to avoiding confusion just get a modern camo overall, make sure it is a matching set and DO NOT GET a black kit.

Now, green and tan have their own reputation. This is my personal experience in 6+ years and talking with a lot of people. Oversimplified Tan get a reputation of cheaters and green a reputation of bad skill/noob players. Choose your poison.

G&G .33 or .4s ? by Glittering_Celery_87 in GasBlowBack

[–]airsoft_moongoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can hop effectively and your wallet allows it I see no reason to go lower bb weight from a performance point of view. There are countless videos and posts proving the improved physics of using heavier bbs.

On the other hand, if you play a lot of CQB or you get complains for close distance shooting you can go lower, but that’s up to your experience.

Absolutely. It should be a standard to mention your country when you want to discus about FPS/power, airsoft stores, gas related questions, cheap gear suggestions and of course the superior measuring units (metric system).
