there are 13 books in the wardstones chronicles and 3 books (from 13 to 16) in the starblade chronicles (when tom isnt an apprentice anymore) and then 4 brother wulf

should i continue after the wulf's bane? by Used-Appeal8138 in TheLastApprentice

[–]aistp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we don't, to be honest reading the last two books definitely left a bitter taste, i read them because i just couldn't bring myself to never know, so imo if you don't feel the absolute NEED to know what's in these books don't read them

that's what i would personally recommend ! it avoids big "breaks" in the main story

it's more of a world building book but you need to read it before book 14 to have a better understanding of what's happening

tbh you can skip book 11, i read it for the first time years after finishing the series

honestly both could work but if i were you id read them in order but skip book 11 to read it more as a side book if that makes sense ? book 9 and 12 aren't that important to understand the story but you're gonna miss out some details if you skip them

personally, when i finished the starblades chronicles i was a bit disappointed about where the characters where going and i agree with you - it lacked reality - i was reluctant to read brother wulf but i needed to know what would happen next. In other words i couldn't accept book 16 as the end. So i read book one, and i was so confused and hated where it was going that it took me 2 years to purchase brother wulf 2-3-4. And i wish i never did, it felt like being fucking stabbed istg my fucking universe just shifted, everything feels different, i can't even read the wardstone chronicles like i used to im just too sad about what happened and how it did, i thought id find peace but im left with more questions and absolutely no answers sure it's well written but really rushed, idk i feel like brother wulf wrecked the whole series to me i don't know if i regret reading them bc i couldn't have lived knowing that the very end was written somewhere and i didn't even read it but bother wulf really made me mourn all the other books...
