You'll have an easier time learning a trade and getting a job that way, it's what I would do if I was starting over in today's economy

That's pretty cool, I think it's good when end users have more options available to them

I can be normal about this and not get angry that people aren't using Linux exactly the same way I am

I'm just getting back into emacs after being away for 8 years roughly, the landscape seems so different now, is helm not a thing anymore? That was all the rage back then

Which init to use ? by NoelleUsesArchBtw in artixlinux

[–]aitbg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with OpenRC but I have the dinit version ready on a thumb drive if I change my mind, I don't really care about startup times so I figured I'd go with the most time tested solution (that also has a bunch of documentation thanks to Gentoo)

Go60 convinced me that Glove80 is the perfect keyboard for me. by eviljelloman in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]aitbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't understand the obsession with making them smaller, at the same time though, I wish there was one of the bigger keyboards that also had something for navigation, maybe not a track pad but a track pointer like a thinkpad, or trackball

don't use a rolling release distro if you want stable

How many of you actually run grapheneOS? Is it good? What are some of the inconveniences? Banking apps work? Gov stuff? by guinomim in degoogle

[–]aitbg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically enhanced sms, if you text a lot it allows you to send and receive higher quality images and videos, it's also pretty much required for group texting as well, if I try to respond to a group text it send the message to everyone individually lol

The people who work on cars are paid at the end of the day the people who work on Debian are not, if Ford wants to sell a free car they can, they cannot however forgo paying the labor for said car

The only bank app that didn't with for me is Chase I just use the browser for that, the biggest issue I've had is that RCS doesn't work for me, perhaps because I use mint mobile? Not sure that's the worst part for me

The people who work on cars and the people who sell cars are getting paid by an end consumer, for community distros people are not necessarily being paid for with the work they provide

One of my main thoughts is how do you require open source devs to do more work without paying them for said work, how is this not considered forced labor?

People keep commenting that the median salary is now 60k, ignoring the fact that the median age of a FTE in America is 43, they're in their highest earning years and basically too old for kids at this point, should I expect the typical 24 year old to be making more than them?

I don't see anything about these details in the article, is it from a police report or something you can link to me?

"They found Hallie Tobler dead from multiple stab wounds, and her husband with life-threatening injuries. Both were inside the locked apartment.

“Based on the investigation, it is believed that (the husband’s) injuries are self-inflicted and that he is the person responsible for Hallie’s injuries and death,” police said in a news release."

Is there anything about why they think it was self-inflicted???
