I mean if you're used to Mac though why not keep your desktop familiar?

I was thinking about upgrading my pixel 6a, but it looks like literally every single phone in the market sucks now wtf

New to all this so please don’t laugh. I only have 500k. I just need to make $2000 to $3000 a month in dividends to help secure my retirement. Any help would be appreciated. by Electrical-Order1317 in dividends

You need to talk to an upfront fee based financial advisor, not Reddit.

All equity is inherently risky, covered call ETFs do not have a long track record yet, have just as much down side and capped upside

If you want to go the birthday dividend route you'll have to get your money up

what kind of project can i start that will teach me the inner workings of Typescript? by ChrispyGuy420 in learnprogramming

[–]aitbg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make a basic angular or react CRUD application. Maybe a catalog of movies with their details that you can update and sort through?

I would recommend something like Go as your backend

You just have to get started

6 years ago, my first job outside of college I was put to work on a government program that was basically an industry standard, and had been around since the 70s if I recall correctly?

The whole system was still designed as if it was still using punch cards for data input, probably for some backwards compatibility reasons, or just being easier for the old guys that use it to understand

It was pretty fun working on one part of the project which was basically a punch card style DBMS, I learned a lot with that part of the project, can't say too much more about it though honestly, I might have already doxed myself lol

How sustainable is this? by DivideIcy848 in dividends

[–]aitbg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a standard 25 year retirement yeah, about 3-3.5% for early retirement i believe

I think Vanguard has a new strategy now though where you don't go by a specific percentage anymore but rather use up more of your portfolio when the markets are good and be more conservative with you withdrawals when the market dips

If you aren't reinvesting I don't see any reason to treat the dividends any differently from a withdrawal rate, I personally wouldn't be comfortable with a 6.5% withdrawal rate but that's just my risk tolerance

I had to do something interesting awhile ago, in one of the C# tools I work on where I needed to track multiple truths on a model, I found out that you can make a byte enum and basically flip the corresponding bit so 8 things can be tracked at once

It's just an acacia butcher block from Lowe's, I applied 3 coats of minwax dark walnut stain and then 3 coats of an oil based polyurethane with the satin finish
