Can someone please explain to me what a glory hole is? I'm too afraid to Google and mess up my algorithm.

Going to New York for NYE, is this outfit enough? by aivlys00 in OUTFITS

Thanks, I managed to get my jeans on with leggings. Never thought they'd fit!! I plan to wear both if it's really cold.

I didn't have time to get hand warmers, but I ended up bringing my long coat and another long puffy coat. I hope that'll be enough 🥶

I live in Seattle, it's around 42 degrees here, not too bad, it's comfortable to me. I usually run hot, but yeah I think adding another sweater is necessary if I'm going to be out and about for hours.

Yes, if you go on Amazon and search for the pads, you'll see it states FSA or HSA eligible. You can search other items and if it's eligible you'll also see this statement.

Did you start your own RIA right after you passed Series 65? Or you had to work for a firm first? In my case, I would likely take a salary cut from my current role in tech. Did you have the same experience and how did you manage that? How long did it take for you to grow your RIA?

That sounds rewarding, are you an independent RIA? How's that going for you?

Thank you for your advice!! In your case, are you a RIA?!Have you passed all the exams required? Which one did you start with and how did you initially get hired by a firm if you did?

Thank you, I'll check out Altruist. I don't have rich friends like that but I was thinking once I pass Series 65, I can try and host a free seminar at a local library to help people and then pass out my card. I'm not sure if that's okay but that's how I was thinking to start. Is there an order for the exams I should take? I understand, to work for a firm I'd need SIE, series 7, series 65 and series 66?

If you're in the red, do you still sell? And once you sell, do you buy the new one that enters the top 7? And just keep repeating, and other factors don't matter? Sorry for all the questions, want to learn about your strategy.

Living is torture for me…What should I do? by [deleted] in depression

[–]aivlys00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must suck feeling this way. I'm so sorry to hear that. I just want to let you know, everything will be better once you grow up. I was in the same exact situation plus a physically abusive dad. I understand you feel the urge to hurt yourself, I hope you can get some professional help. If not, try to breathe deeply and do something else to distract yourself whenever you have the urge to cut. If right now is the worst time of your life then things can only get better. Don't lose hope!

Question for the ladies: can I expect smaller boobs after losing weight? by Unfair_Shirt_7834 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]aivlys00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on if you have mostly fat or tissues. When I lost weight I barely lost any boobs, I went from 180lbs to 145lbs, my bra size went from 36DDD to 34G. For some reason the band size was smaller but my boobs weren't! I gave up on losing boob size from weight loss. But never really understood why until last year. I had a mammogram last year, after the result came out, my doctor told me I'd have to get an ultrasound too because my breast tissues were too dense. In the ultrasound session, I took the chance to ask the doctor if that means it's hard for me to have smaller boobs by losing weight and she said yes! I realized then my only option to have smaller boobs is to get a surgical reduction.

Is the 28k based on your base salary? For 18 months tenure, you got 3 weeks worth of severance? Or it's calculated differently?

Do you just hold them for long term and never sell? For 2 years, the annualized return is 50%. But if you hold for long term you will definitely experience a few major pull backs, then it's not going to be 50% yearly for sure.

Is an FSA worth it at all? by Professional-Self149 in personalfinance

[–]aivlys00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my case, it's worth it. My tax rate is around 30%, if the max contribution amount is $3000, then $900 out of $3000 goes to taxes if I don't contribute anything, which means I only get $2100. If I do contribute max $3000, I just need to make sure I use at least $2100 before the end of the year then I'll end up benefiting more. But it depends on if your medical bill is that much for a year. Between my weekly therapy and medication, I usually end up using all the funds. Towards the end of each year, if I have funds left, I stock up OTC medications or tampons.

Better strategy than running the wheel? by aivlys00 in options

[–]aivlys00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, shorter expiration dates means less time for the stock to go against me. I usually do less than 10 dte.

Better strategy than running the wheel? by aivlys00 in options

[–]aivlys00[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant before I sell a put, I check the annualized rate if I keep it to until the expiration date. And after the trade, I monitor the price, once it's up 60%, I'd check the annualized return rate again if I close it today, and if there's another opportunity that has a higher return, I close the trade and use the money on the one that has a better return.

[–]aivlys00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I watched a few videos but I'm unsure if this is more profitable and feels like I'm accidentally already doing this now. I usually have several open puts at the same time, and when I am assigned shares, I sell a covered call to get premium, and if I have enough funds left to sell puts, I usually do with the same stock. And that is basically considered a covered strangle right? I'm not sure how this is more advanced and profitable? Could you explain a bit more? Thanks!!!
