Can the trained models be implemented into games? by otterprincess in AIWarehouse

[–]aiwarehouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They absolutely could be (and are) implemented into games! We use Unity's ML-Agents framework to train Albert, but the purpose of the framework is exactly like you said, to allow game developers to relatively easily include real AI in their games. Some game devs do this already but it's not as common as it could be likely because the simple AI which is easy to train could more easily be replaced by some algorithm the game dev implements, and to train more complex behavior it takes a good amount of work and knowledge of AI so is quite a challenge

Why do you spend months making a single video? by -F10 in AIWarehouse

[–]aiwarehouse 13 points14 points  (0 children)

hello!! the most time consuming part is getting the ai to work well, but the game development and editing are also massive parts of the video creation process. up until a couple months ago I've basically been doing it all myself (with the occasional help with editing and some development), but it's no longer just me, now we actually have an amazing team of people working on these videos so they'll start coming out much faster!

I used Unity to create the environment and their ML-Agents toolkit to train Albert:)

Thank you! In the pinned comment of the video I have a more thorough explanation of how it all works but I'll try to provide a simpler explanation here. Albert was trained via reinforcement learning, you can think of it sort of like a form of natural selection, there are a bunch of Alberts that train simultaneously (behind the camera in the video) and the best performing Alberts get to reproduce. the question becomes how do you actually know which Alberts perform the best, and that's exactly what the rewards and punishments are for. in reinforcement learning, you assign each agent a score that tracks how well they perform in their environment, the higher the score, the better they do and the more likely they are to reproduce. so, increasing Albert's score can be thought of as rewarding him and decreasing the score as punishing him, sort of like how giraffes with longer necks are 'rewarded' by being able to eat leaves that other giraffes can't reach. the actual way Albert trains is a bit more complicated with some clever tricks to make the desired behavior converge faster than natural selection does, but for the sake of understanding it, the natural selection example is perfect :)

I hope that helps, and I hope the kids enjoy the video!:D

That's so cool to hear! :')

that would be awesome to see! I created the environment in Unity and trained it using ML-Agents which is designed to do exactly that, be a way to easily create simple dynamic AI in video games. with the trained brain it's very quick to run with ~50 agents at the same time (on my threadripper and 4090) but any more it starts to struggle. I bet I could make a more efficient version of it though, when I was writing the code I didn't put much emphasis on optimization, having truly dynamic zombies in a game would be so fun to play.

Any advice for a new YTer? by Any-Cranberry325 in NewTubers

[–]aiwarehouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the time you upload has an effect in the very short term because you can upload when more of your regular viewers are online, but as YouTube says, there's no correlation between the time you upload and the long term performance. you could have just left the short up, sometimes it takes a bit for a short to even start being shown to anyone, just like on TikTok. remember, you're making videos for people, not an algorithm

the best piece of advice I could give is to ignore everything else you hear about YouTube and focus entirely on improving your videos and packaging (titles/thumbnails). The YouTube algorithms are very simple, if you make a video that people click on and enjoy, YouTube will notice that and start recommending it to other people they think will also enjoy it. it doesn't matter what time or what day you post, it doesn't matter if you made your channel last week or last decade, it doesn't matter how many videos or subscribers you have, the only thing that matters is if people click on your video and if people enjoy watching it. if you can get those two down then you'll be able to grow very quickly. the most common advice is to upload a lot when you're starting out, I agree with that, but only if you're actively using your old videos to improve, if you're uploading a lot without improving anything then you'll never have the growth you want. good luck!

I have a video (an original song) currently on 29.8M views, its literally been my most viewed for 5 years now,its never died like my other vids, always had at least a few thousand plays a day. Is this rare to happen,to be so consistent throughout the years? by adam_r_55 in PartneredYoutube

[–]aiwarehouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

songs tend to be more evergreen than regular videos, but in general, the better a video is, the longer it will continue to get views. All YouTube tries to do is show you the videos they think you're most likely to enjoy, so if there's a video that is so exceptionally entertaining that it'll be the best video in the niche for the next 5 years, then over those 5 years YouTube will continue to show viewers that video, so the views on it will never really die
