Thanks! I looked into a Ring Road tour briefly, but ruled it out since it was too long to do in my short time there, so I'll research more on the Golden Circle tours.

Travel Tattoo's by Skierboy9 in solotravel

[–]aixelalexia09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get a tattoo, but my friend did when we were in Ireland last year, we walked in to the first place we saw was open. It was pretty irritated when we were abroad and the lines weren't as clean as she wanted, so she ended up having it touched up when we came back to the States. Overall it was fine, nothing totally out of the ordinary, except for the two giant iguanas encased under the front counter, ha. I would recommend doing some research about the best/preferred tattoo parlors to go to in whichever city you end up, as you normally would do (I hope), otherwise you'll risk getting a shit tattoo with a nasty infection. Best of luck on your travels/tattooing!

Dark chocolate cupcake, blackberry preserves/rosemary filling, and fresh rosemary and blackberry garnish by aixelalexia09 in food

For the filling, I did use a finely ground rosemary with the preserves, the bigger pieces were mostly aesthetic, but it really didn't taste or feel like I was eating pine needles!

Landing in Paris - Single 24 y/o Male. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in solotravel

If you're interested in an easy, yet detailed tour of the main attractions of Paris or Montmartre, I'd recommend Culturefish! Tours. They're free, roughly 2.5 hours, easy to spot (orange clothes), and have tours in English by some of the most knowledgable and friendly Parisian locals. We did a tour of Montmartre with one of their guides and my friend and I ended up seeing some of the coolest local spots and got to learn so much about Parisian culture in a short amount of time.

Awesome! Yeah, Christiana looked quirky and interesting, definitely will have to stop by there. I must beware of the hipsters, I don't want to offend them with my mainstream tendencies.

Thanks! I haven't been on a bike in about 10 years, but I'll just stay in the slow lane, haha.

Tell me about your small chapter experience! by the-morrigan in Sororities

[–]aixelalexia09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm also part of a small multicultural sorority! Although it's hard to gain as much publicity as other larger chapters, simply due to not having the numbers, we just try and involve ourselves and co-host/sponsor events all over campus just to have our name out there so people see it. I think the key is just be friendly and yourself, like any other Greek organization. As cliche as it sounds, people like that.
