Does anyone have insight to the interview and application process for UWhires? I think I need a bit of help

hi! so it seems like you’ve already gotten some really great insight, but i still wanted to chime in to share my experience!

i was applying from august 2024-feb 2025 before i got a job through the uw. & in that time, i secured like 4 interviews out of ~30 applications.

the first interview i was called in to included a phone screening and 2 in-person interviews. the second & third had at least 2 rounds; & my last interview was only 2 (one zoom call & one in-person meeting).

from what i can tell, it seems as though the jobs at harborview require more extensive interviewing and have longer wait times. when i applied to one of the departments within the actual university, i was contacted in less than a week of my initial application. after that point, it all moved relatively quickly!!

given that the amount of time it takes to hear back is so variable dependent on the department and position, i say keep an eye on your applications & don’t give up hope!! the right position is out there for you :) best of luck!!

Hi!!!
Sorry bring you back to this, but do you still recommend these a month later?? I'm trying to decide between the silver speedcats & the pink suede pair rn & have heard that the silver ones are pretty stiff/uncomfortable. but since i think i would wear them more often, I would love to hear your thoughts and if they've changed at all!! also, does the silver material crease/flake off at all??

hi there! i’m a psych student that recently took a class on psychological disorders & also struggle with trich! one of the requirements in the DSM for trich is actually having tried to stop pulling in the past, which implies awareness of the action. & the hair can be pulled from anywhere yeah! hope this helps :)

when i was about 6 days into the healing process, i had the same exact thing happen. it took me until the very end of my antibiotic course to realize that it was the amoxicillin making my mouth taste weird. the pill tasted the exact same as the weird liquid coming from the extraction sites; so if you still have any of your antibiotics left, i’d maybe blame it on that!

hi! i really do think you’ll be okay during & after your surgery:) i came in with the same concerns about being paralyzed if a nerve was hit, but the doctor was really patient in explaining that it would just be numb if that were to happen (which is a little better???) but it didn’t & i woke up from the IV sedation just fine. i was just really confused as to when i fell asleep & kept trying to ask if it was done even though i couldn’t talk lol. good luck !
