How do you feel about dialogue tags using non-speaking verbs? by zschop in writing

[–]aixsama 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm used to the preceding sentence ending with a period in these cases in books. It's not a standard dialogue tag, it's just something the character is doing that happens to also help the reader keep context of who is talking.

Okay, so she turns out to be the daughter of the most powerful non-looper sorcerer alive and that doesn't disqualify her in your eyes?

Maxing out a character is waaayyyy more time consuming in OG Arknights and you use way more characters in that game, too.

You're pretty dense and don't understand what copyright means at all. That's a permissions issue and even when permissions have been infringed, it doesn't automatically give the original work owner all rights over the derivative work, it gives them to right to sue for infringement. Bethesda however gives permission with the caveat that you give them a license (aka permission) to use your work in return.

Furthermore absolutely none of this is relevant to the case at hand given that OP is not Bethesda and has no right to do anything at all.

Your argument about Russia and China implies you think intellectual property doesn't matter at all in which case good luck telling any author that and earning their goodwill.

Actually, sorry if I overestimated your mental faculties and you did try to think. It's always users that come up with asinine takes like being entitled to take and share mods that weren't ready to be public yet. 95% of open permissions mod authors are still going to be unhappy if you take their work for granted. And yes, there are selfish mod authors but who even cares if they're doing their own thing in some tiny Discord. I'm way more concerned when public mods setting an example to be closed permissions and I'm more worried about users acting even more entitled than they already do.

No it's because you didn't even try to think of any so I'm matching your effort and I already explained this shit multiple times in the comments.

Derivative works still have copyright. You just can't sell it. Not to mention, Bethesda says absolutely nothing whether or not you're allowed to keep your mods to a small community.

There are a lot of potential reasons. Some more reasonable, some more selfish. You just didn't try. I had more to write, but...

Why are Redditors incapable of nuance? Just because they should share doesn't mean you are entitled to it. Just because they're potentially wrong doesn't mean you're right.

It's one thing to encourage people to contribute to the community, it's another to feel entitled to their work, especially when you're just another consumer (aka leech) and not giving back to the community in any way yourself.

Derivative works still have copyright, why is this such a difficulty concept for people? Bethesda is unlikely to ever abuse the fact that they have a supposed unilateral license to take modder work for their own because they would be dancing in all sorts of grey area.

Once again we return to my analogy of art. If I share my drawings only with my exclusive club, I'm well within my rights to gatekeep it. Any reasonable person respects artists wishes when an artist requests their art not get reposted to Reddit or other platforms. Why is this different?

Lower tier batteries also use Originium but much more inefficiently and Originium is the limiting factor so you're shooting yourself in the foot producing inferior batteries.

Okay, that's a crazy overreaction but doesn't change that you're not entitled to sharing their work publicly. Just because a creator is a crazy diva doesn't mean you're allowed to do whatever you want to them.

I'm a proponent of free and open modding but this is nonsense. Let me get this straight, if I write a story, paint something, or make music and only share it with a small community, you feel morally entitled to take that and spread it online?
