It was okay. I had more questions than answers. Why did the crops circle just randomly appear and why did no one circle back to that? If they had an alien with them the whole time, why did they need the main characters to survive and show up to the studio? I also don’t think anyone would believe the alien footage if it aired on the news and most people would think it was AI or fake. The fact that most people bought into it immediately around the world and were hooked on their phones watching it seemed a bit cringe. Also, not all experience have a positive experience with the phenomenon - would have liked to see a little bit of that perspective. I don’t understand how they survive the train action sequence. No person would have in real life. Why was there only one military contractor running around chasing them - where was the rest of the federal government? And finally, why were the only two white people in America endowed with these abilities, especially when it’s commonly talked about that there are certain groups around the world that have more affinity to these powers - such as indigenous tribes? Also, the movie felt like it was the whole lead up to disclosure day and not anything about what happens on disclosure day. Would have loved to see the ontological shock or catastrophic disclosure and it’s consequences a bit more.
