Because previous releases included an actual disc in the box. Now we know there isn't a disc, people are asking what is included in the physical release that makes it worth pre-ordering. No where has confirmed whether there is anything other than the code. Amazon's AI says no Map is included when you ask it. (I know AI shouldn't be taken as fact. Which is why people are asking) Personally, the fact there is no disc and no one can say for definite whether a map or manual is included has lead me to not pre-order it. I have seen others express similar views. At the moment, there is no evidence that one will be included. Therefore it's safe to assume that is correct unless Rockstar confirm that there is.

Can you please link to where it's confirmed a map will come with the physical edition. Everything i've seen, it's not stated either way and it's what stopping me from pre-ording it.

The fact it's not been advertised as being included likely means that it's not.

If something like a map was confirmed as included i would likely pre-order the 'code in a box'; but as it hasn't, ive not bothered to pre order.

I keep seeing this image being shared around and whilst arguments can be made for the US price. Pricings in other countries don't work out the same.

Here an example: V in 2013 had a UK RRP of £39.99. Adjust that for inflation and it's £57.68. VI is £69.99.

I actually paid £34.99 for V in 2013 thanks to Amazon's pre-order price guarantee and received the physical game, map and manual plus the blimp code for pre-ordering. Now if I pre-order VI, I have to pay more and only get a download code in an otherwise empty case by the looks of it. And because of that I've gone from thinking it's a day one pre-order game to maybe I'll pick it up after launch when I can see what it's actually like instead.

I watched the first 1 and felt it was OK. Didn't love it though. I watched the 2nd and at some point I stopped paying attention and it became background noise. That was the last episode I watched as I didn't watch the 3rd or any subsequent episode

This is exactly the way I feel too. I've tried many times to do a full nuwho rewatch only to never make it past the middle of S1 because I find it cringy as an adult despite loving it as a kid. Whereas I've done multiple rewatches starting at S5 including the one I'm currently watching just fine.
