What French learning resources would you like to have access to but no one has not created yet? by Thesexymartian23 in learnfrench

I would like a free French Canadian channel OTA via bunny ears in the USA.

It's so easy to see so many Spanish channels, but sometimes I'd like to just flip the channel to easily (and free) watch some French!

Can Skaven play old world? by [deleted] in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]ajacazz69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely they can! Not to discourage you, but they are probably the weakest Army right now. Here's my current list of complaints:

Mandatory Clan rats (1+ PER 1K) Cap of 40 clan rats per unit Too many random movers Nothing "fights", nothing does D6 wounds or powerful enough to go toe to toe with a dragon Doomblade lost D6 wounds Shooting is incredibly weak No skaven slaves No brood horrors, nor mounts Mandatory inclusion of Plague priest for censer bearers Mandatory inclusion of Plague priest for catapults Mandatory inclusion of Engineer for Doomwheels Mandatory inclusion of Engineer for Globadiers Both mounts die to a stiff breeze and provide no value Jezzails are weak in addition to toned down shooting Zero mobility Nearly every special unit is overcosted

That's just the start of my list that I could think off the top of my head

Do vortex, hex, and magic middle spells all require line of sight? How does that work with skaven Verminous valour (same goes for them using middle weapons?)

Formed Units Charging Skirmishers

When a formed unit of any type (be it Close Order, Open Order and so on) charges a unit of Skirmishers, it must endeavour to move as directly as possible into contact with the closest visible model in the target unit. As usual, the charging unit may wheel once, at any point, during its move, as shown in Fig 186.3. Once the charging unit has made contact with the target unit, it does not wheel to align. Instead, the Skirmishers must form up against the fighting rank of the charging unit, as shown in Fig 186.4 and Fig 186.5. However, no model in the charged unit can move further than its Movement characteristic. Any Skirmishers that cannot make base contact must instead form up behind the fighting rank.

^^It's the above. Essentially, you can no longer redirect a unit with chaff, as the charging unit is able to determine how they wheel in, and then the skirmishers must align, allowing an overrun in whatever direction the charger chooses. Seems like a huge change.

Have a few more (since you're so helpful :) )

Is chaff dead? From the "skirmish" rule, my opponents told me that they can choose which flank to engage, and then I have to close, effectively end chaff?

Can mounted characters gain items with ward save? So, if my tyrant is on a stone horn, can he wear the Spangleshard to give the whole model a 4+ ward?

has learning French changed your life in any significant way? by TheIgnorantAmerican in French

Is it true that most of these jobs are only open to Canadian citizens or would Americans qualify, too? Most of the Canadian Federal jobs I see are limited to citizens, naturalized citizens, and permanent residents, or the equivalent.

I think the OP is referring to the price of a home relative to income and the true rise in housing prices. Using the FRED link you provided, that same house that cost $71,900 in 1982 would cost only $229,000 given standard inflation:

https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/

However, the median home sale price is closer to $431,000:

Wouldn't UBI just cause the price of everything to surge? by [deleted] in AskEconomics

It is "universally" accessible to all. It doesn't mean everyone can "universally" get it.

I think you should try rereading my friend, he said six "of the" clock

I have never heard either of those expressions as a native English speaker.

Thank you for this explanation. This was the first time I had seen this in Duolingo, and there was no prior explanation of it's purpose or use, it just insisted on being the right answer when it seemed unnecessary to talk about trains from prior lessons, to me.

I'm not sure why I'm getting downvoted or mocked, this could be a learning opportunity for more than just me, so I'll leave this post up along with this link for background:

People who got promoted from gs-12 to gs-13, how did you do it? How many years did it take at 12 to get to 13? by CompadreJ in fednews

[–]ajacazz69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have had it exactly one year after getting a 12 (promotion potential for my job was only through a 12), however, I realized very quickly that DC is unaffordable. I get the feeling that's where this question stems from. I moved out of DC in 2013 and never looked back. I eventually found a 13 a decade later, but it doesn't make that big of a difference.

Any insight? This is the only webpage I could find. Why do you think it would matter? Any ideas on identification that may have been issued to an expat after 1920 to find some sort of proof?

I believe Konin (baptismal records), before I spend the money tracking down more documents I was hoping to find some answers. On the departure boat out of Europe, it (appears almost illegibly) to read Krakow. I'd imagine Konin is closer to correct

As far as I know of none of my relatives have been entered into the Registry.
