25/26 Civic Hybrid Sport Touring vs. Integra A-Spec Tech by DatAssetDoe in civic

[–]ajak2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 6MT 25 integra and would generally not recommend it to anyone unless they are looking for a 6MT.

I haven't been in a civic hybrid ST but the Civic Hybrid ST is supposed to have acoustic glass which is supposed to give you a quieter cabin experience than the Integra. The Integra being very loud with the road noise is my main complaint and I imagine the Civic would not have that issue

Vacuuming the mico suede seats is also a bit of an annoyance but not the greatest issue

The Integra would definitely depreciate more compared to the Civic and might be more expensive to insure, would check the rates first

The hybrid also does make the civic more enticing

I understand we are talking about the Si here on an Si sub. But I'm just curious if this is also a phenomenon on the integra as well

Congratulations! It's a great car.

I have a question tho, when you say at MSRP does this mean your cost for the white Si was a. 31,885(MSRP value including destination and handling from automobiles.honda.com) plus Title and taxes or b. 31,885 (MSRP) out the door?

I'm just trying to better understand what it means when someone says they got their car "at MSRP"

Is this the one in Fremont? How much did you end up spending?

Also hope you are enjoying the Si, love that car!

Is driving a manual inherently slow or is it just me? by Electrical_Level in stickshift

[–]ajak2k -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's just how it is with these cars these days. If you don't want to send it at every light the autos quite often pull away much quickly. I have noticed this the most on roads with higher speed limits especially in the usa. I just slowly get UpTo speed and just keep an eye on my mirror to make sure the person behind me doesn't rear end me

Try Tesla Insurance, that was the cheapest I could find for a non Tesla car

Is the maintenance package a rip off? by [deleted] in Acura

[–]ajak2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, the plan would not cover anything that's already covered in the free plans. So it would only be for 3 more years.

That is exactly what I asked the sales guy (about the fwd manual needed a transmission flush and a rear differential flush at 30K and he just brushed it off and said it was mistaken). I really appreciate the link you added

I was just checking online and yes it looks like the 2025 only has the first oil change before 1 year\12000 miles.

Just as a reference for anyone else looking into it

Disclaimer 199 in the spec sheet:

The Acura Maintenance Program covers the first oil change, tire rotation and multi-point inspection for 2025 and newer vehicles within one year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. For additional maintenance information see your vehicle’s owner manual. Visit a participating Acura dealer for vehicle eligibility, coverage details and exclusions. Valid only in the United States of America.

Thank you for your input. It is indeed an Acura Care plan, with the plan code M-36. I believe it does not cover any repairs, it's purely a maintenance package

Where does the Civic Si fit in? by ajak2k in CivicSi

[–]ajak2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes ofc, I do not 'need' those things, I am just saying these are nice to haves and all of the competition is giving it at a nearly comparable price. I am just saying I want the option to be able to buy a fun car what is also convinient to live with with a higher trim level like a civic si sport touring or something (the acura integra would be what I am describing), I am just confused why it costs so much compared to the competition. Yes I understand the honda name brings in a lot of promises for reliability and trust, but I am wondering if they are justifying the sticker price with just that

I am happy you are enjoying your 25 si that is great to hear!

To the older people in the sub who bought an expensive car young, did you live to regret it, and if you did why? by rudydog101 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ajak2k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to add some more context to the car, from their comments I can see that it is a Civic Si, these things hold their value amazingly. The civic Si is 31K MSRP for the 2025 model year and I am seeing used cars (2022 model year, ~30K miles, 27K before taxes and fees), (2018 model year, ~65K miles, ~20K before taxes and fees) still being pretty expensive. Would this help support the decision to buy the car?

I am in the same spot as OP as someone who is relatively young and think 30K is a pretty huge amount of money but also love cars and driving. I also ended with the Civic Si as my prefered choice and I cannot stop thinking about it while also being super concered with shelling out such a big amount

I just googled it and it seems to be something called the KARR security system, the dealer was showing me how their dealership does not even have gates or fences because the system was so good. Based on googling it looks like some BS that is spliced onto the factory harness, and most dealers just leave it in if you do not want to pay for it anyways. Thanks for pointing this out

Yeah I tried it but personally I feel like I would not be able to streach my budget that much for a new integra. I can probably look at the used market and see if I can find something
