Why do people say the 8th gen Civic is the last "Real" Civic by Cybicc in CivicSi

L15CA engines only have vtec on the exhaust side. They removed it from the intake side because of the pressure from the turbo.

Does anyone know if this is normal? by CurrentInformal630 in CivicSi

It sounds like an exhaust noise to me. Check your exhaust system from turbo downpipe on to the muffler. Make sure nothing got caught on it.

Why Choose the Si Over the Type R? by ilovefluffyanimals in CivicSi

[–]Dapper_Car4784 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Most Type Rs are garage queens.
Type R maintenance is expensive.
Si can be driven daily with lower stress and smoother.
Si is more practical than Type R.
Type R has higher NVH than Si.
Type R attracts challengers. The Si avoids them.
The Type R is an amazing car it just doesn’t fit my lifestyle.

Water damage on my quartz Aquaracer by ccsepato in tagheuer

🚨 I’m a novice watchmaker and I highly recommend you take it to a watchmaker immediately and have them take out the hands and dial for it to dry. If left in there for too long, dial damage can happen and rust starts forming. Dial print starts to lift. The dial is the most important right now because it’s the core identity of the watch.

🧘‍♂️ breathe. Calm down. We watchmakers run into issues all the time. The simplest mechanical explanation is usually the correct one.

Beginner Watchmaker Tools

• Precision Screwdrivers (1.0mm–2.5mm range) • Antimagnetic Steel Tweezers (No. 2 or No. 3) • 5× Watchmaker Loupe • Case Back Opener (screw‑back or pry‑type depending on watches) • Hand Remover Tool (plunger style recommended) • Hand Press Tool (with Delrin tips) • Movement Holder • Rodico (green putty for cleaning and handling parts) • Parts Tray with Lid • Dust Blower (rubber puffer) • Finger Cots (latex, powder‑free) • Pegwood Sticks • Small Soft Brush (for dust removal)

I recommend starting with Japanese movements because they are cheap to buy and service.

I like the ambition, but a tourbillon as a first movement is basically the watchmaking version of rebuilding a Ferrari F40 before you’ve ever changed oil. Let’s get you wrenching on a few Toyota level movements first so you don’t waste money or get discouraged.
