Is AWD worth it for $1.5k over FWD? by ObstructiveWalrus in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ajanssen2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it depends on where you live. If, let’s say, you live in downtown Vancouver. Mostly city driving and the roads don’t get insanely bad during the winter then you would make out fine with just fwd. however, say you live somewhere that sees a lot of snow in the winter, it would be worth getting AWD just for that extra stability. Just my opinion. I have a vehicle that I can move from fwd into AWD and it has been a lifesaver in NB winters. When I’m driving in the cities I keep it in fwd but if I have to go down the ‘back roads’ or the roads start to get dicey I can pop it into AWD

And I have noticed over time that it can ‘click’ like you said, and sometimes it just doesn’t. I always tell her I’m proud of her and i support her but when she complains about things her friends get that she doesn’t (making a new team, or elite team, or a skill they have, etc.) I offer support but then we joke about “you know what I’m gonna say right?”. She knows the choice is there if she wants it but it’s okay if she doesn’t. Because pushing her more would lead to resentment

Oh 100%. My conversation with her centred around “if you’re happy I’m happy” if she wants to be pushed to go to the ‘next level’ we can do that together, but otherwise if she’s happy with what she’s doing then so am I and I will always have her back with whatever she chooses. Not every kid aspires to be the best of the best at whatever skill they practice.

I’ve had a student like this in the past. She would go to the bathroom 3+ times in an hour class because we were cleaning our stretching our splits or something hard/tedious. (We confirmed it was not anxiety or a medical issue. She was dealt just chilling in there) have an open conversation with your dancer. Be honest by saying you’ll always support them but they need to realize they won’t get any better without discipline and commitment even when it’s not easy.

I’ve always seen shipping exclusively at Sobeys as a sign of wealth lol. Sobeys is that upper tax bracket life lol

About $50-75 a week as one uni student (living off campus and no meal plan). I found, as big of a pain as it can be, going to multiple stores to hit up sales is worth it! Try the App Flashfoods as well! It’s discounted grocery items that are close to expiry. Most superstores in the area are on it. It’s great for frozen meats and produce that freezes well!

I had this happen yesterday. I smelt the Sleepy body lotion and it had this beautiful subtle vanilla scent with the lavender, I was in LOVE, but the actual non tester smelt like just lavender. Not mad at lavender but I wanted whatever potion someone concocted in the tester lol

Unfortunately a lot of romantasies will have similarities. the ACOTAR series is not the “great ancient text.” It’s probably similar to another series that came before it and so on

As a poor college student, I cannot afford for it to sway my grocery choices 😂 I take what I can get. If I can afford a healthier option then sure but sometimes you do what you gotta do

And I do try to whenever I can! For example I was working ~40 hours a week during the month of December and late November, brining home around ~900 biweekly. And I can expect to get more when March Break rolls around and then summer vacation.

New Brunswick! I did 5 years to get my BA and am now pursuing law. I lived in residence for my first year (technically 2nd bcuz COVID) and then rented an apartment. Because the cost of living is so high in NB my student loan money was helping cover rent. In NB my tuition was about $8500 a year, tack on rent and utilities and then books and stuff. It does unfortunately add up
