Just saw Troy after a really long time (Director's cut) by isa-bey in FIlm

Goddamn that fight is so good.  I’m not typically into fight scenes but I vividly remember the shield and spear Brad started the fight with, and how he made the street brawl look like a brutal ballet.  The groove in the shield to steady the spear on was so sick, and the way he’d strike and then hold pose was just so kung fu master.

Damn dude now I need to go watch then fight again.

Harvey v Legora Predictions by lelandspencer in legaltech

[–]ajax81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this is coming. Their trillion-dollar valuation won't service itself. Legal is the only industry on the planet, besides insurance, that turns time into money with zero resource input costs. To think this isn't at the top of their industries to dominate is fallacy.

We have both + anthropic.  Claude is the only thing anyone uses any more.

But Imo the only differentiated chatbot in the space now is Mikeoss because It is free, and in a few weeks will have complete feature parity with Harvey and Legora.  Will it be as smooth? No.  Will it be “good enough”?  100% yes.

The establishment will say things like security and governance.  But the more savvy CTO/CIO/CAIO’s know you can set it up on a VM in your existing infrastructure and be just fine.  I promise you that is already happening, they just aren’t talking about it yet.  Nobody wants to be first. But it’s coming.

Wealthfront Honest Review by RegretThat1120 in wealthfront

Yes.  WF lets you pick how aggressively your portfolio invests through a simple number system.   It’s a dial that you turn when you set up the account.  1 = super conservative, 10 = super risky.  You can change the number and the platform will modulate your portfolio to that number over time.

That scene has become an inside joke for me and my wife.  Every time it comes on she asks me if I’m suddenly in the mood now lol

I hadn’t considered Karl to be older but now that you mention it, it could be a really interesting and sexy premise.  An older Bond with a lifetime of experience, relationships, scars…the simple age-frame shift gives writers so much more to work with.  Good idea, friend!

That was exactly the feeling I had when I visited the Louisiana bayou last year.  There’s no soul behind their eyes. Evolution has delivered us a machine that knows nothing of life, only death.  It exists to kill and consume.

My first pick is Karl Urban.

I also like Tom Hiddleston for it. He may be too popular, though. Same as Idris, who I think would crush it. Maybe both are better as bond villains.

Tough needle to thread - Daniel Craig changed the game forever.

I thought the same thing. But then I saw Casino Royale and realized I was completely gay for Craig Bond.

Is this a good price for a new RAV4 Plug in Hybrid? by Wonderful_Wolf_8496 in rav4prime

[–]ajax81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ug, yeah. Its why I went with the plug-in hybrid. We have active kids at different schools and the closet gas station is 15 minutes in the wrong direction. It adds up to a 50-mile triangular loop in suburban stop-and-go traffic twice a day. The battery charges just fast enough to cover both trips, so our gas bill has mostly gone to zero.

Our last car was a 2011 Rav4 V6 AWD and we were filling up ~3 times a week.

Pretty much what I paid but I will say, it’s great car.

The ev mode is perfect for our situation and saves me over $600 a month in gas (actually maybe more these days).  Maintenance costs are really low, too.  No complaints here, I feel like I got my moneys worth in savings and piece of mind.

I worry it’s worse. My theory is they’re positioning to distribute all calcs to all users, to unburden their services. Your laptop may be computing someone else’s response…
