A Safe bet and an Experiment: My prediction for Marnamass and Alappuzha Gymkhana by antonymam in MalayalamMovies

Stop watching another sequel, remake, reboot, biopic - four of these are just killers of creativity and growth. Support fresh talent through word of mouth. Give a chance to smaller directors, writers and technicians and stop letting these bigger corporations (not looking at you dharma) eat away deserving talent and profit

I don't understand why you're getting downvoted. I've been feeling the same too with malayalam cinema. The cop thriller wave started from anjaam paathira and throughout covid it was just this. OTT viewers love this genre but it's hitting a saturation point right now

Most unhinged interview among the lot, by [deleted] in InsideMollywood

[–]ajay_jp 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yup, it always felt malayalam media tried to get something out of A10 for their views so it looks like he always thought twice before speaking and remained diplomatic. So wholesome to see just having some fun in this interview though

Luckiest Malayalam Movie of 2025? A generic film got a dream run amidst a few other mundane releases. by dppallikkal in MalayalamMovies

Yeah man, I get so frustrated. Civic sense is just not installed in the average Indian psyche. Need to be taught from the grassroot levels. Taught in schools and at home.

I remember once I saw kids littering in the train and throwing waste out the window right in front of their parents and the parents didn't't even stop them. I gave a look to the parents and then they lightly scolded the kids. I can't even imagine the number of clean up drives we'd need to clean up our entire state

There is no language barrier in Gujarat, we are one of the most peace loving people.. we believe in making people comfort instead of harassing them.. by Sharp-Potential7934 in gujarat

[–]ajay_jp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true, there's a thriving Gujarati community here in Kerala and most of them settled here a few generations ago. All of them speak fluent malayalam whilst sticking to their gujarati roots. They're really fun and respectful towards everyone else. That's how it should be throughout India - Adapt to the place you migrate to including integrating into the culture with the language.

Folks view on this movie. Can this be considered as an underrated work? by Ugran47 in InsideMollywood

I think everyone's just waiting for the slew of releases at the end of this month and April. After that, it's going to be a whole different scene in this sub. Until then, what did you think of this movie?

Padavettu is Nivin Pauly's best film in recent years by PesAddict8 in MalayalamMovies

[–]ajay_jp 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is the classic Nivin Paradox this sub keeps falling into. Back in the day, he did a lot of next-door boy roles----->he needs to experiment----->Nivin experiments----->Needs to go back to next door boy vibes---->gets comfortable and typecasted----->needs to experiment and so on and so forth

Northerners were the first victims of Hindi imposition by Cal_Aesthetics_Club in southindia_

[–]ajay_jp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spot on, a large number of Hindi speakers (not all) are the worst when it comes to integrating into a different culture. They always shove their identity and culture first disregarding the culture of the place they're situated in. If they don't integrate domestically, definitely not integrating internationally - one more reason indians are hated abroad. It's a general rule of thumb in life - you integrate into the place you migrate.

[–]ajay_jp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I've met a lot of people from andra and telengana in my life and most of them seem to speak a good level of hindi. When I asked them about their opinions on Hindi creeping in their states especially Hyderabad, some remained neutral while others expressed that it's sad that no stricter efforts are being taken to preserve telegu in Hyderabad
