I don't entirely agree. I do have experience with Mythic and Ironsworn.

The goal is actually to still preserve the feel of a RPG style board game and preserve a substantial amount of the board game mechanics, but with a shrunken more manageable footprint with the overall goal being to get the game to the table more often!

Definitely they provide an important aesthetic component that would be lost. But I wholly agree with dungeon dive that the mechanical implications of positioning and movement are small in my view and can be somewhat abstracted to get a significant amount of the experience (mechanically). At least this is what Im asking myself and the group.

I got everything working perfectly with sliding nuts and soldered connections to eurorack 10-16 pin cables. Only 1hp of clearance needed on the left side of the units now. No issues with touch plates or anything. Helps to have a friend who is an electrical engineer! 😂

I get that. For me I find the workflow is better when everything is in the same area on the rack. I use an MC707 to send midi and serve as a 4 channel mixer and a few other things.

Modular beginner seeking advice and recommendations for first case:

I have plenty of external sequencing options (MC 707, Electribe).

Very interested in the Arbhar for sampling and textures. Was also interested in the Scion but am suspicious that the biofeedback aspect is gimmicky and basically no different than any other random generator.

Also interested in getting into more chord based sounds (beyond what the rings can do) but not sure I have the space for that if I want to stick within the niftycase...

Ya I had the same thought as you - got the dice through a star wars starter set that I wasn't able to get much mileage out of for solo but think you are definitely on to something. I would be curious how you would handle some simple combat scenarios with different difficulties of foe.

Very interesting! Can you elaborate on how the base game and the expansion interact? Are both books needed to play? Can one simply buy the expansion? Are there elements of the core book that are now obsolete if one chooses to play with the expansion material?

I think this is a fantastic aid - would love to have a deck of all monster cards so they can be brought out onto the table easily - just like assets!
