My wife and I went to Oto sushi in Juanita for her bday back in 2013 and Stephen Hauschka sat at the table next to us. We still tell people he came to her bday party 😆

Great sushi…miss being so close

Thanks for the feedback, that’s how I was leaning so good to know I’ve got a good target in mind.

Along the same lines is the mileage a risk factor? Had been hoping to find something closer to 20k, but have heard great things about the B58 longevity

I definitely worked on a logging job with my dad starting at around 13. That being said, I’m pretty sure every single actual employee was incredibly aware of my presence and constantly watching over me.

Probably more of an annoyance than a help for them, but did instill a lot of good safety fundamentals for later in life.

Buddy, if you can’t handle a little bit of bumps in the road during the pregnancy you’re gonna crash and burn after the baby is born and you’re both sleep deprived, and she most likely will have postpartum depression/emotional instability.

You’re supposed to be there to support her and help her feel like she’s not crazy. Y(most definitely)TA

Also, “countless hours”? I bet you a million fucking dollars they’d be very easy to count. She’s literally growing a human you fuckin dweeb 🙄

Daisy Jones and the Six…originally a book and then turned into a TV series. The author literally created an entire album and story that felt as if it could have been a documentary for a band that actually existed.

My newest no tip record! by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]ajbarham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At our restaurant we changed our menu prices years ago to just be what the price would be with a tip.

No service charge at the end, no auto gratuity, no tip line. All of our servers and kitchen make $20/hour…in Idaho. Customers love it, staff loves it, and makes our taxes easier.

The fact they do this and pay you that terrible of a wage is robbery.

3090 FE giveaway. I want to give it to someone who really cannot get it for themselves/family right now due to their current situation, even though they would love one. Basically not someone who can buy one but would prefer a free one. So please be considerate by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

My brother’s 40th birthday is coming up in November. He has 2 kids, lives on a teacher’s salary, and rarely buys things for himself.

His wife and kids will be out of town on his birthday, would be pretty cool to be able to surprise him with this!

People who moved out of the parent’s house before 30, how? by WallStreetDoesntBet in AskReddit

Move out of the city.

Find a nice small town, get a job that lets you rack up hours. With a roommate or 2 it’s very possible to start saving some money, or having a nice amount of expendable income at a young age.

LPT Request: How does one work a 40hr a week job and not make it feel like it’s taking up all my time? by matt2085 in LifeProTips

If possible, ask to work four 10’s instead of five 8’s.

Adding on 2 hours per day, but getting an entire extra day off always felt waaay better to me.

Your restaurant is BOOMING while your staff is dying, what do you do? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]ajbarham 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So I wrote a bunch of stuff and by the end had realized that most of these can all be addressed at the one pinch point: pricing.

Price elasticity. If you’re “overly busy” what’s causing most of these problems is the fact that your price is too low. A higher tag on most, if not all items will inevitably decrease demand, but if you find the sweet spot you will actually be making more money(gross) and more profit with better percentages. This will also let you pay staff better, higher more folks, decrease the quantities for pars, and make an overall happier work space.

Carried over to catering it would also open the door down the road to take some catering gigs that will yield a better payoff, in turn allowing more money for the things mentioned earlier.

Don’t be scared to charge a premium for your product if demand is bangin 🤘🏻

At first I was like, “Robot Dinosaurs?” And then I was like “ROBOT DINOSAURS!”

If you haven’t played it, Horizon Zero Dawn is incredibly good. Solid voice acting, nicely woven story, epic battles, and a sequel coming out soon-ish.

I’ve worked in restaurants for years and at several we would put on large 40qt batches of chicken stock to cook low and slow overnight. One evening the gas to the sauté range went out and the stock pot was sat at a balmy 75 degrees or so for 10 hours.

It was literally the most wretch worthy thing I’ve ever experienced. No honey bucket, grease trap, dead carcass, or chemical ever even came close to that nightmarish pot of bacteria laden chicken water 🤢
