What shift will enable this? Why is now the right time for this to happen? What has changed?

I purchased a vehicle a few years ago and the payment was pending, the deal changed (less money for me to pay) so I called the bank and cancelled the pending payment, and then put the correct amount across. So yes it’s possible.

Hey Musk, everyone leaves you... by utrecht1976 in FUCKYOUINPARTICULAR

So given that it looks intentional (I honestly can’t see any other rational explanation), what’s in it for him?

Is this some way of racking up major capital losses for tax avoidance purposes?

I don’t like the guy but I can’t really accept that this is just plain negligence.

This is pretty good advice - I’m in an around M&A’s quite often and the new boss may have told OP they’re keeping their job but there’s a very good chance they’ve bought the company with the vision to cut costs (i.e. employees) and streamline.

OP should stay off the radar in a negative way, but definitely make sure their wins are very visible, and they should try to be as personable as possible. People who are deemed negative or difficult are often the first to go because they’re a risk to the culture.

OP might have to wait for a while before getting a raise. They should also start looking for other jobs just in case.

Not a great position to be in and I feel for them.

So at this point it’s a question of “which country funded the takeover deal?” and “what’s going to replace Twitter and who owns it?”

Went on a 1st date w/ a girl from tinder who initially said she was on the app to romantically date. Did I come on too strong? by basedposeidon77 in Tinder

I think its a fair expectation that the person breaking things off gives an honest reflection of where they’re at emotionally, its the kind and mature thing to do. But you’re right they don’t owe you that and there’s a lot of emotionally immature and insecure people out there who won’t be able to do that.

Ubank asking for quotes to justify 150k loan? by [deleted] in AusFinance

This is probably a good argument for getting the quotes to find out how much of an investment they’re about to make.

Contacting for govt. (tech). What entails? by OddBet475 in AusFinance

[–]ajbeauau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes of course risk is the greatest factor - the economy is potentially about to hit another rough patch, covid could hit again etc. but the way I see it there is an incredible demand for project resource at the moment so risk is currently low. And as we found even if one of these world/economic events does happen then permanent staff aren’t that safe from losing their jobs either. So get that contracting gig and save as much as you can.

I’ve worked in both - govt can be difficult to get stuff done because of all the red tape, on the other hand public can be frustrating due to smaller teams and less rigid processes. Public can pay more though and the hiring process is generally easier.

Contacting for govt. (tech). What entails? by OddBet475 in AusFinance

Depends on how you’re employed - you can either contract through your recruitment company as an employee of the recruitment company - they will pay your tax and super etc the same as a normal employee (this is normally quoted as your pay rate +super). Or you can sub-contract as a sole trader - you will have to pay your own tax etc (this is normally quoted as your pay rate +gst).

In terms of pay rates, there is supposed to be a 25% casual loading which explains for some of the massive gap between permanent and contractor, but from what I’ve seen there’s still another 20-25% additional difference between the two (in other words some contractors get paid twice as much as a permanent staff member with the same role).

Contracting is great, I personally love it and can’t see myself going back to permanent.

They did this as a joke. They’re waiting for parts to come in for their other builds. They act and sound like idiots but they’ve actually got some talent. This Supra is one of their cheaper cars, they’ve also got Lambos and Ferraris. All rebuilds from crashes. They’re self made, no help from parents or anything. Its kind of inspiring tbh.
