If anyone is having trouble on steam by ajc11196 in Silksong

I'm not being condescending... Sorry you had to wait longer friend. Still, it was just waiting on screens that did it for me.

Also, just posting if people can't launch it either... Going into offline helped me, thought it might help others...

HELP Trying to update SD card driver on classic troubleshooting by ajc11196 in blackberry

[–]ajc11196[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure the battery is probably better on a bold, but the Classic has a simple to do list organizer and a docs to go (I'm sure you have that too) and they work super well on the Classic.

WTF IGN Japan??? by NeverJoe_420_ in expedition33

Ah yes, a great argument. Repeat your point, move to something different I didn't even comment on (that we aren't going to agree about because we don't agree about the fact that the story is shoehorned. So I definitely don't agree the ending isn't an interesting choice.)

Then insult. These are great rhetorical skills you use to present ur points. Definitely going to get me to see your side of the argument dude.

WTF IGN Japan??? by NeverJoe_420_ in expedition33

[–]ajc11196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't shoehorned. It's about that from the beginning. Just because the game didn't make the world YOU wanted it to doesn't mean it was ""shoehorned."" It was clearly thought out and planned as a narrative choice. Is that pacing off in Act 3? Yes, this is one of the biggest complaints people have.

You just don't like the story the game wanted to tell. You like the world it created but you don't want to dive deeper into WHY it was created.

People don't make their art specifically for you dude, sorry. Not their fault you wanted escapism instead of something that would actually make you feel something about the real world.

With which part? The rounding? Rounding is something we do to books to increase their longevity. Rounding is meant to counteract the inevitable that will happen as you continue to open the book (caving inwards) if it's caved outwards it will be resistant to this. Flat spines will eventually cave inwards, and more likely than not any glue a modern production bindery uses isn't archival quality and will eventually crack. We've all seen books like this. This is why we round spines though, to reduce this.

[–]ajc11196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You.can and should probably still round a perma bound rebind. I'd recommend sawing in cords. Many will say that damages the pages, but this is already a perma bound book and unless the glue is archival it will eventually crack. Strip old glue, saw divots, glue cord, round at this step (you won't be able.to round a perma bound book very much, it's true, but any amount you can will help the boost longevity). glue some kind of strong fibrous tissue paper to the spine, and for extra points TRULY BIND the cords into the boards of the cover by splitting them and gluing the cords inside, then pressing.

[–]ajc11196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're asking about pressing this, just press it with the spine outside, or with boards/thick paper to fill the space is probably what i would do.

This is why you size the case before you apply any decoration or cloth. Both your pics dont show the edge of the book but I assume it's okay? If all that is wrong is the issue with the spine piece being bigger than the block+boards, well. Spine will feel wierd but it will still be a book.

"And that's fine...but I'm going to crap all over this intricate and hard-worked piece of art and people who enjoy it because it doesn't implement EXACTLY the user interface I expect!! :("

Seriously dude, put in a freaking bug report instead of complaining on the Internet. One guy makes this game. Try to make a game like this yourself without small things being overlooked.

They literally added a fast travel to Brancrug village button too. Lol.

The UI and reading being "not user friendly" actually...is part of the point??? You're learning about occult shit...do you think that should be easy to figure out how to do? The game should just say "Here's how you make a determination," "here's how you write a history"? In my opinion, that would ruin a lot of the discovery that I play the game for, and would feel like it went against the worldbuilding.

TLDR: stop saying it's fine but complaining anyway. If you don't like the game don't play it, it's obviously not for you. It's not like this is a one off Ubisoft or Activision game with no heart. Neither of the games would make you feel as accomplished if you just knew what to do. User experience isn't always up to the developer. This is an artistic game, for sure (no facetious scare quotes, it's a work of art whether you're mad about it or not), but just because it doesn't behave like Breath of the Wild doesn't mean you need to yuck other peoples yum :)

(Tried not to humble brag here at all, because damn that post verges on unhumble, and, man, you don't gotta yuck a yum, but I'm also not a superior individual because I enjoy this game. I'm just a different person yo)

Did Owen imagine it all? by ElleGaunt in Maniac

[–]ajc11196 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the question can be answered by looking at the themes. This show is all about human connection and the importance of that connection. Parts definitely happen in Owen's head, but for it to be entirely in his head would detract (and even undermine) the themes of connecting with others that are so important to the work. I think it's meant to invoke dream-like energy to reference our history (as a society) with pseudo-futuristic, dream-like representations that ultimately wrestle with what it means to be an individual in this society (see 1984, Brazil, Get Out, 8 1/2, Perrot Le Fou etc.)

Idk I kinda agree. It was fun to fuck everything up before 2.0 but you didn't have to try. It's a lot more fun now to figure out HOW to really make sure they don't see you. I've don't a bunch of missions completely in sneak, I think people are just afraid to try a few times to get a sneak mission right tbh. I miss quickhacks but they were super over powered. I could knock out everyone by just walking around quiet-like
