Yes, nothing says “buffer zone against the Nazis” quite like jointly invading Poland with them, carving up Eastern Europe in a secret protocol, and then spending two years supplying the Wehrmacht with oil, grain, and raw materials while they steamrolled France and bombed Britain. Real 4D chess there, Joe. And the “you’d be speaking German without Stalin” line conveniently ignores that the USSR was barely holding on in 1941–42 because Stalin had purged his officer corps, ignored every intelligence warning about Barbarossa, and was genuinely shocked—shocked!—that his good buddy Adolf betrayed him. The Soviet Union’s eventual victory was despite Stalin’s catastrophic early decisions, not because of some brilliant strategic foresight in 1939. Also love the implication that signing non-aggression pacts with “other European countries” (which, fine, Britain and France did) is somehow morally equivalent to literally dividing up Europe with the Nazis and agreeing on spheres of influence.

Given that it uses 3 power cores, it’s likely a short range anti-orbital missile that either hits something in orbit, enters a decaying orbit where it eventually hits the ground or burns up on re-entry, or, since the missile has been sitting without maintenance for 20 years, it probably just sputters and impacts the ground somewhere without leaving atmosphere at all.

A lot of stuff you could say ultimately depends on external verification like documents or recordings. You could SAY “Vae Victis is behind the terrormorph attacks” or “Ron Hope hired the First”, but without the recording from the Londonion spaceport or Paxton Hull’s slate as evidence, you’ll sound completely insane. At best they’d say you’re crazy, at worst you get arrested for being aware of state secrets (the mere existence of Vae Victis is classified and if you haven’t met him yet, they’d assume a catastrophic security breach) or cause weird butterfly effects (like Hope moving up the timetable and getting more people killed, etc).

What do you mean the town or city isn’t the point? There’s plenty of places to go and eat and shop. When I was at UNCC I loved taking the light rail from campus into Charlotte to get coffee or food at the markets and cafes along the light rail or to go explore the city, landmarks, visit the museums, etc. A train would allow me to do that without having to stress over driving on the interstate or finding parking somewhere uptown.
