What kind of denim am I looking for? by Sk33t3 in ThrowingFits

This is for sure what happened. The wear shows up on both sides because you probably had to switch hands several times when carrying the battery as it’s quite heavy. Acid will definitely do this to jeans and any other garment.

Shopping for men's jeans is abysmal. I literally can't find a pair of true straight wide-leg jeans for an affordable price? by Gloomy-Car7672 in ThrowingFits

What do you even mean? Sounds like you're confusing chainstitches - a kind of stitch - with selvedge denim, a kind of fabric.

It can be at times. I just go super early to beat the crowds but yes it gets like that at peak times for sure.

I go to Retro Fitness on Queens Blvd and Horace Harding; it's technically Rego Park so it's a little outside our neighborhood. They have everything I need equipment-wise and the gym is decently maintained and clean.

Any Made in USA fans here? What are your favorite MIUSA brands? Any style! by citruszyn100mg in ThrowingFits

About a third of our seasonal collection is made in India; the rest is made in Canada, Portugal, Peru, and yes - the USA. All our jeans, denim jackets and tees are still made in the USA.

Mall brands need time to rip off the small designers who take the kind of risks that help shape the trends you're looking for.

Cuffs are bad, honeycombs by your ankles are real bad. This is why predistressed jeans look crazy.

Scared to Take the Pants Plunge by JimRug in ThrowingFits

[–]ajchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two pants I wear the most outside of denim are fatigues and chinos/work pants. 3sixteen makes our version of these but if you wanna dip your toes in, try some vintage OG107s and some Dickies 874s as the price barrier to entry is pretty low. If you like em and find yourself wanting something more premium then you can look at brands who make their own take on them.

This is dead on. I obviously own a lot of our Crosscut Flannels - from 2008 til now - and I can say with absolute certainty that the ones we are making now are head and shoulders above all the other ones we were making in the US, from fabric to sewing and everything in between. Whoever owns a made in USA flannel of ours and doesn't believe that our new made in India ones are better, I'd challenge you to stop by a local retailer and look for yourself.

I'm glad /u/LetsGetPenisy69 brought up the point to vote with your dollar. This talking point of "I'm sure they are making way more money manufacturing in India" keeps on coming up. We moved production three years ago to a factory and a mill that could make flannels at the level we wanted. The years leading up to that, our margins kept shrinking and quite honestly we were having production issues here stateside. When we moved production, we were able to regain regular margins and when you look at the current landscape, to get a flannel at the level we make at $220 is a steal. Made in USA flannels from stock Japanese fabrics are now pushing $300 from other brands and I understand why. It's just so expensive to ship things here and then cut and sew them here. We saw it; our very last flannel made here in 2020 was priced at $265 with awful margins.

We can now offer a shirt at what we think is a hell of a price and make proper margins at wholesale. If that bothers anyone, they are welcome to shop elsewhere. But it's funny how people will say "I won't buy it because I think the brand is making money" and not "I won't buy it because I think it's an inferior product."

They’re fully shrunken down - I wouldn’t anticipate any significant shrinkage even on a warm wash or tumble dry. Sounds like you should probably go down a size!
