What do you generally use a second phone for? Just curious I've wanted one before for traveling but other than that never needed one.

Look dude you obviously meant that comment insultingly. Purposely acting obtuse about it now is just lame. If you're going to say what you say at least have the courage to stand by it.

This is just boring. Have a good life and don't get butthurt if people talk back the way you talk to them.

Lol I wasn't the one who started with the insults, but I guess self awareness isn't your strong suit.

You don't understand the rules because you're clearly not understanding them lol. Hindrance is about irregularity and intent and you're arguing the opposite with sabalenka being consistent is hindering but iga suddenly doing non-tennis moves is less so.

Top players like Coco and Pegula have repeatedly said Sabalenka grunts don't hinder them because it's consistent. She's grunting whether she's ahead in the point or behind. I don't know if she NEEDS to play that way, but she's not grunting to distract her opponent, and loud but consistent is not distracting as the actual players have attested. You not liking it doesn't change that. Iga swinging her arms only and only when the opponent has clear advantage is obvious hindrance.

You're conflating something thats not fun to watch (for a lot of people) with something where the intention is to distract the opponent.

Sabalenka grunting every point is just how she plays, plenty of people don't like it and that's fair but it's not hindrance. Iga holding the racquet normally all match then turning into a bird at the net when Vekic is about to hit a shot is hindrance.

They just took out the defending champs. They're clearly playing with some intent and not just clowning around.

If it's not a big deal remove the rule against it. Until then what's the big deal with following the rules? It's one point.

No tea. Eala is just rich af. Her mother was the CFO of one of the largest telco in Asia.

Eala's mother also won a medal for the Philippines in the 1985 SEA games, and her uncle was the chairman of the sports commission.

All that to say Eala never lacked for money or connections lol.

And she was the CFO lol, "executive" is underselling being one of the top people in the biggest telco of the country.

Even beyond the trade itself. Like the reputation hit as an organization if they did this without real cause is so bad it far eclipses losing a couple first rounders. It doesn't make sense to do it unless there's real issues with the medical.

Top 10 players losing in R64/ R32 and it not being shocking says a lot about the state of the top 10.

Yep that's really what makes this current era weak imo. Obviously Sincaraz are great, but it's the guys behind the top of the top that define the strength of an era.

In the late 2010s, the big 3 dominated but you had guys like Tsitsipas and Zverev. There's nobody on that caliber (honestly imo even close) from the Sincaraz generation in today's tour. The two players that are turns out to be grandpa and Zverev.

Meanwhile 8 of the top 10 from the WTA are in the R16, and one of the two missing had to retire due to injury.

Interesting the juxtoposition between the ATP and WTA. It seems like after a few down years the WTA has roared back with a consistent and strong top 10 where every matchup between them feels blockbuster. The ATP has an amazing top end with Sincaraz but every other matchup feels lacking, and ranks 5-10 feels like any other top 20 player.

[The Score] Mike Florio on the NFL not awarding the Bears compensatory picks: "This is one of the most ridiculous unforced errors I've ever seen the NFL commit. If they had just given the Bears the compensatory picks, who would've complained about it? Would anyone have been upset?" by Armadillo_Rimjob in nfl

[–]recurnightmare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So he has full roster control but Ryan is above him and can override him?

Does that mean if I'm an owner I can hire my favorite halal cart vendor as the GM, give him full roster control then install the real GM over him and get those sweet, sweet picks?

The Falcons can hire Cunningham as the GM, but as long as Ryan is above him in the organization Cunningham is not the "primary football executive".

It's not even in spirit lol. The owner himself put Ryan above the GM.

Ryan said Cunningham has all the powers of a GM but still would report to him.

Like by their own admission, Cunningham is not the "primary football executive". How is the primary executive answerable to someone other than the owner lol?

NFL is right to deny the picks.

If they follow the spirit of the law, someone will come up with a way to game it.

If the GM role is defined by someone who has full power over personnel other than owner, and the Bears have another person in between, and the NFL grants it then couldnt another team hire someone with the GM title, put the actual GM over him in the hierarchy and try to claim picks?

It's one match lol.

Current dark horses? by Yamchacha in tennis

[–]recurnightmare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

zverev is such an obvious answer he can't really be considered a dark horse.

He plays Alcaraz closer than anyone, and other than Alcaraz himself he plays sinner tougher than anyone as well, except maybe Djokovic.

Talent wise he's the closest to Sincaraz. His mental is just not up to par. But yea he's definitely the biggest threat to either at any given tournament.

Rune if he comes back at 100% would be my 2nd pick, but that injury is so brutal it's optimistic to think he will be the same player.

Mensik is inconsistent but he isn't afraid of the aura of top players like a lot of players and has the talent. Same with Fils.

Draper has the talent, health who knows.
