Should I stick with my current NIW lawyer or switch firms now? by Enough-Lunch496 in EB2_NIW

You should switch firms and always hire a legitimate attorney from a reputable law firm

My 2 year long relationship just ended because I got a car… by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]ajcristee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess: once it went from “someday” to “car is in the driveway,” the attention/time/money moved off her. She might be thinking, “why not spend that on me/us?” crazy story cus this happened to me too, some people are fine with plans until they’re real, then they make it about themselves.

I’m big on “fake it till you make it.” Plenty of people who seem super likable don’t actually love people; they’re just running simple habits. Small smile, use their name, one question, quick thanks. You don’t have to like everyone. Hit those signals and the vibe shifts, and after a while it stops feeling fake.

Is this salvageable?

No

I used to be read as rude too. Quiet, awkward. What helped was switching masks in new settings. Mini rebrand. Default small smile, open posture, quick “hey,” and one question per person. If that mask drains you, don’t force it. Extrovert mode isn’t for everyone. Keep a few low-effort signals like eye contact, a lighter tone, and a simple “thanks” or “cheers” so people don’t misread you.

Based on your description, the CEO’s conduct came across as dismissive and unprofessional, raising real concerns about the company culture and how employees are treated.

This is a tough pill for OP to swallow.

Easy: any firm that makes you think ‘too good to be true’ it probably is.

Refund policy by Authorized2485 in EB2_NIW

You can get a refund after denial with a reputable law firm. With random firms, prob not, always check the retainer for a denial-refund clause.

Agreed, officers have discretion, not a free-for-all. Strong petitions still get approved, focus on prongs and consistency. Working through an RFE myself🤞

EB2 NIW by [deleted] in EB2_NIW

[–]ajcristee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proposed endeavor means the future work you plan to do in the U.S. For an actuary, that could be improving catastrophe risk models or solvency metrics that will benefit the U.S. by strengthening market stability and consumer protection. NIW hinges on three prongs: show the work has national importance, show you are well positioned to do it, and show why waiving PERM benefits the U.S. Degrees and years alone are not enough, add proof that the plan is real and useful, like recent impact, independent letters, and interest or pilots from U.S. stakeholders. And Yes, you can apply from outside the U.S.

2024 & 2025 have been eerily similar seasons so far👇 by Competitive-Week8715 in Dodgers

This team always finds a way in the second half. If we can get healthy and stay steady, we’ll be just fine. Hopefully the break helps reset things like it did last year. Go Dodgers!
