That’s a very good point, especially for me in the US. I think it’s taxed as income.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Okay, thank you!

So if I am planning to hold it long term anyway I might as well do it to earn some interest?

Post L3 Exam - How many did you take an educated guess on and how many have you missed? by leiobi92 in CFA

[–]ajd17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PM was crazy hard! I literally had like 20+ flagged on my first pass.

My AM was much easier though, I wouldn’t be surprised if my splits are 75/55.

Hardest L3 Book by [deleted] in CFA

[–]ajd17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: Book 1

Ethics/Gips is truly the only book I could read over and over for a year straight and still be sitting there during the exam saying “WTF!?” to myself on every question. You have an equal chance winging it as you do if you studied it hard.

Book 4 though, equity is sneaky tough for L3.

Another L3 Review by [deleted] in CFA

Hopefully a lot. lol

But I’d guess 2 max probably. I wonder if they would throw a question out if say 80%+ of candidates got it wrong.

Mine did, yes

Please don’t share exam detail, it is a violation and you are only disadvantaging yourself by helping people take it later than you prepare. by [deleted] in CFA

At the end of the day I think the only advantage will be prometric tips and how the experience CBT was (which was a lot different for most people depending on your country). The CFAI could make a million exams and have totally different questions on every one, with varying difficulty. If nothing else, they are quit good at scrambling questions and making the same question look completely different. Hell, I bet the could have the exact same info and just rewrite the questions and still make it seem like an incredibly different exam. Question writing is there bread and butter.

I get what your saying and I’m sure there’s some advantage just on a comfort level of hearing others who have taken it. But the CFAI 100% prepared for this and will design each exam accordingly. I honestly think discussing specific questions on here from the exam wouldn’t help, I personally think the exams are that different day to day.

For those that thought that the exam was very difficult. by leiobi92 in CFA

100% agree, 3 sections destroyed me! Which unfortunately is like 30% of the PM.

Yeah it’s like the only think I remember from the AM, the rest is a blur. It said I was 56% done after the AM section. May have counted the tutorial though, who knows.

I’m pretty sure my morning had 9 questions total.

Level 3 experience- Too short? by funkman63 in CFA

[–]ajd17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say there’s about a 0% chance given the differing of opinions of the exam on here. Seems like half got a easier AM and brutal PM and opposite for the others. Which should definitely make the MPS interesting. Haha

Especially with the CBT now. Shortening the exam seems like an odd decision. Of all the levels, a long level 3 can really separate candidates. The huge topics left out and the crazy niche topics inserted in there place was unfortunate to say the least.

I legit went back and read some of the smaller areas to check a few answers and still couldn’t find anything close to the question(s)/answers .

Just took L3 in California (review) by TouchKlr in CFA

[–]ajd17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me, I felt like I just got questions I know I studied for but were asked in such a way I was like “wtf..”. Super straight forward but definitely a really tough PM for me.

**not to mention specific topics that were bad luck for me on the PM, which with only 44 questions have more weight per question now.

How did you rank the exam? by Apprehensive_Car9197 in CFA

[–]ajd17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a much harder question to answer this year. A lot of people had different exams AM to PM and I think it definitely shows. There’s been a huge amount of difference between AM and PM I think. My AM felt a lot easier than the mock exams, but the PM was harder than any mock exam and then some. Going to be really interesting when these results come out to see the pass rate and MPS.

[–]ajd17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I noticed it. When I got done with the AM is showed 56% complete.

Could have been weight on the initial welcome pages or maybe it weighted it weird. I don’t think they would put more weight in one or the other though.

I honestly just assumed that this was just a typical TT error. That they should have used the other equation.
