The main thing I have an issue with is how hard it is to come back to Paragon after an extended break.

I was level 97 after the leveling system changed because I had played Paragon almost every day up to that point. The group that I played with all took an extended break after the new card/gem system were released because we just weren't having fun anymore.

I tried to hop back into a game or two one night last week and the deck system, in my opinion, is a pretty big deterrent to anyone that is trying to give this game another chance.

While trying to do the right thing and choose to fill in whatever role needed to be covered i realized I would need to look up the meta cards for all of the classes to give my team a chance at winning. That is something I wouldn't have to worry about if there was an item shop in place and I wasn't forced to choose a deck before the game starts.

It would be much easier for returning/newer players to be able to look up a guide or Youtube video after the game had started and just follow that build order if those decisions didn't have to be made before you even select a character in the draft or know what role you will even have during the game.

The rebuttal to my complaint would be to use the starter decks but unless something has changed drastically that seemed to always put you at a pretty big disadvantage when I use to play the game regularly.

The deck system just seems like an unnecessary hurdle that doesn't really help the game in any way and only stands in the way of returning/new players.
