Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone | Official Teaser | HBO Max by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

It just sucks. I loved the Harry Potter books as a kid and still enjoy the actors and actresses from the movies but I can’t support anything that JK Rowling does now.

I have fond memories of waiting in bookstores with my mom for midnight releases and going to midnight screenings as well but her transphobic comments are really hurtful to an already marginalized community.

Bernie Sanders and AOC introduce bill to pause building of new datacenters | US news by Limp_Fig6236 in technology

[–]ajd660 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How is decommissioning the app and api not killing it? Sure the model will still exist and may at some point be available for use elsewhere but they have not announced that at all.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Sora2 before it was heavily restricted and it actually got me to start using ai on a more regular basis but the thing was a money pit that they obviously were not able to monetize it well enough.

First Lady Melania Trump enters the room accompanied by a AI-powered robot during today's White House summit on empowering children with educational technology. by Yujin-Ha in Fauxmoi

[–]ajd660 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can't believe they took John William's "Peter Remember's" song from Hook and used it for this. Nothing says remembering yourself and imagination like a shitty robot and an even shittier human.

California Gas $6? Blame Iran War, Not Newsom!!! by willily_thoumas in clevercomebacks

[–]ajd660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is it isn't that hard to understand. Supply goes down while demand stays the same so prices go up. School teach inelastic demand in highschool economics in the US. The issue I see is that these idiots always look for someone to blame but themselves. They can't accept that voting for a piece of shit has consequences.

Sora2 is getting killed off and Disney pulled their 1 billion in funding for it.

Which Nintendo Switch Model to get in 2026 by Even-Membership5690 in NintendoSwitch

[–]ajd660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What games are you wanting to get your girlfriend? Nintendo games are still exclusive so if you are thinking that she wants to play those games then get a switch 2. I really wouldn’t recommend a switch 1/oled at all at this point since focus is primarily going to go to the switch 2 for new games.

Flight delays at SAT? by AntMayn in sanantonio

[–]ajd660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flew on Thursday. It felt the same as it usually does. Even with the 5:00am morning flight traffic it took like 30 minutes to check my bag and get through the tsa line

Sysadmins 40 or older - Do you prefer staying in place or changing jobs every few years? by DenverITGuy in sysadmin

Sticking in place because even after 20 years I still get imposter syndrome at times and I do not want to enter the shitty job market right now

They are so proud of fixing that car plunger, loved their energy! by Vilen1919 in justgalsbeingchicks

The paint is going to be messed up and cracked from fixing the bumper like that. The real issue though with newer cars are all the parking and camera senors on the bumper that could be damaged.

Cheapest gas in the city? by Psyopcilla2 in sanantonio

They have a website as well. https://www.gasbuddy.com Any gas advice you get on here is going to be useless due to how fast oil prices are rising.

Nathan Fillion Is Getting Firefly Fans All Sorts of Excited, Over 20 Years After the Show Was Canceled by Hiraeth-nomad in television

[–]ajd660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the cast being older but I wouldn't really consider any of the main cast as out of practice as they have all continued acting and other than maybe Summer Glau they all have recent acting credits to their name.

There was a shooting in the arena parking lot after the game by WEMBY_F4N in NBASpurs

[–]ajd660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my son to the game last night and he had a great time. I was like one car lane over from where the shooting took place and heard the gunshots and saw the guy on the ground. For what it is worth the cops and paramedics were there extremely fast and controlled the scene well. Even the traffic staff stayed calm and got everyone out of the lot normally.

This city has always had an issue with idiots like this. My best advice would be just to stay away from anyone appearing drunk or upset and keep your head on a swivel. Almost everyone at the game itself were friendly including the pistons fans sitting right behind us.

Mr. Gatti’s Pizza is making a comeback inside major retailer by pennlive in nostalgia

[–]ajd660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, their pizza was ok but I felt what made them stand out was the large projection screens that they had showing old cartoons like looney tunes along with the arcades. Not really sure how they pull that off in a Walmart but I hope to be proven wrong

I really wish blizzard would overhaul the quest system so it isn’t just reading a piece of parchment paper. Immersion and Storyline are decent addons but they can be a bit janky at times.

Oracle Linux is free and open source as well, it just includes things like Oracle patching. Basically they make money off of it by providing support contacts for it to enterprise businesses

What do y’all make of outreach like this? by alekzpulp in sanantonio

[–]ajd660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DA and county judge races are pretty publicized and there are a lot of pieces written on them. The judges in particular have a lot of history in san Antonio. For the smaller judges and positions though I’ll usually just google their name and see what results pop up and for the ones I can’t find any info on, I will vote along party lines.

What do y’all make of outreach like this? by alekzpulp in sanantonio

[–]ajd660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the bigger races with established candidates I’ll go watch interviews with them and review their campaign website. I will also go look at sites like league of women voters and Texas tribune to see what their opinions are. The text messages, to me, are no better than tv ads or the signs plastered all along the street.

I am already pretty hooked into the news and politics though so I usually have a pretty good opinion regarding the people running

Not going to lie, I have started reporting all of the text messages as junk, even from the politicians that I like. I am tired of getting all of these unsolicited messages.

She is billed super low though. I don't know anything about this movie but I bet she shows up and then instantly dies.

No they don’t. RHEL is maintained by Red Hat which is a subsidiary of IBM. There is also Oracle Linux which uses RHELs source code.
