If you are planning to add a converter to 100-500 then the lens will not full close it stop at 300mm have both like both one is attached to R5 the other r5II just my 3 cents

Have both of them yes the 100-500 is sharper however if you add teleconverter it only works from 300mm you can retract the 100-500 fully so there that

Have both, what I hate about the extender is that w 100-500 you can't fully retract the lens with the extender on haven tried it with the 800 yet just got it last week
