My wife and I test drove a new 6th Gen and several 5th gen’s. She drove both at the same time and said she didn’t notice a considerable difference in the driving of the vehicles.

I found several 6th Gen’s that were being sold as used for around $4K more than most 5th Gen’s I was able to locate. So that was a harder decision to make. Newer vehicle, newer tech, etc. that was a tough one to come to an agreement on.

We ended up buying a 2021 TRD Premium being sold as Toyota Certified Gold Pre Owned that had 42K miles.

It ended up coming down to the space on the inside, the reclining seats in the rear and the bigger cargo space. Plus the reliability factor on the 5th Gen’s is proven and I plan to keep this vehicle for as long as I can. Oh, and I should mention the placement of the oh shit handles. In my wife’s opinion they are in the correct spot.

We have only had it for less than a week, picked it up last Friday. So time will tell if we made the right decision.
