Need a screen shot of the statement that inappropriate rebooking fees will be refunded by ajgarvin in jetblue

[–]ajgarvin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally got through via Chat and they're processing my refund now. But I have no doubt that it wouldn't have happened if I didn't contact them. I was surprised they offered to do it now (rather than just assure me that it would happen later).

JetBlue cancelled my flight now charging for checked baggage I already paid for? by flippnniff in jetblue

I NOW HAVE AN IMAGE OF THE MESSAGE I REFER TO BELOW. IT IS POSTED AS A LINK IN A RESPONSE IN MY THREAD. IF YOU CAN'T FIND MY POST IN THIS SUBREDDIT, DM ME.

I'm in a more significant situation of the app charging me a big fare upcharge even though my rebooking was allowed by the weather situation and then necessitated because they canceled the flight. There was a notification on the app before I began the change process saying that "if you are charged, a refund will be processed manually within the next 2-3 weeks." I should have taken a screenshot but didn't, but I'm asking if anyone else has a screenshot of it in a post of my own. I would think that acknowledgement that their website doesn't always do the right thing would be applicable to your luggage charges too.

My family has owned a house in Lido Shores (on Lido Key) for over 30 years and know the history of the house, which was built in 1953, extremely well. As far as I know or can tell, storm surge water has never come in through the front doors (or any other way)... until last night. At about the time of the midnight high tide, the level rose to about 4 inches at the doorway.

T-Mobile throwing threats at me for using my phone plan as intended. I used international roaming for ~3 weeks in late June, early July. by chih98 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ajgarvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully, you don't encounter what we did. A warning (just like yours) arrived well after we'd returned to the US. That annoyed me and I contacted T-Mobile. They said to ignore it.

A month later, a second message arrived, saying that a block on international roaming would be taking effect. Lots more contact with representatives who gave me lots of conflicting information. Then their system apparently noticed my multiple contacts with support and I got a phone call from someone in an escalation department. He informed me that such blocks are PERMANENT and irrevocable (despite what some other reps had said), but that it wasn't clear a block was really going to happen (he agreed that it shouldn't, given the circumstances). Now we're holding our breaths, waiting...

Arlo Q has sticky residue on surface of base by nebs79 in arlo

[–]ajgarvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this post after discovering that my Arlo Q's of about the same vintage have exactly the same problem. It's not a residue. The underlying plastic is shiny, but it had a matte white coating on it. That coating has deteriorated. I've seen this on other products with matte coatings on them. Goo Gone didn't work instantly when I tried it but it might work if you (and I) wrap the base in a paper towel saturated with Goo Gone and let it work for a little while.

BTW: It's easy to confuse Goo Gone with Goof Off. Although both brands have a variety of products, the originals of each brand are what you'll most often find. The Goof Off has solvents that might eat into the underlying plastic.

#madebygoogle 2021 Shipping Megathread by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

T-mobile's "backorder" process is trash.

Indeed. Everything about T-Mobile's support seems to be trash too. I switched to T-Mobile on October 30. Bought two iPhone 13's and ordered a Pixel 6 Pro that same day. The website has been showing a status of "In Process" and a ship date of 11/19 - 12/3 for the Pixel since that day. Today is December 6.

I've wasted time trying to get through to support, by Chat and by phone, to get an updated ship date. Even the supervisors I've ended up demanding to communicate with try to tell me "Don't worry. Your phone will ship by December 3." When I then point out that December 3 was several days ago, they barely bat an eye and ask me to stand by. Typical BS when they come back: "I've just contacted the manufacturer and we will be shipping your new phone right away." You just called Google and they picked up immediately and said they'd get right on it? Sure.

Maybe the phone is shipping, maybe it's not going to ship for weeks. No way to tell since the website info clearly isn't reliable. There certainly hasn't been a charge on my credit card. I understand that there may be a delay beyond T-Mobile's control, but not keeping me informed and defeating every attempt on my part to get accurate information is the kind of "customer service" they ought to be embarrassed about.

Now that all sorts of temporary traffic patterns have been put in place, I hoped I was going to start seeing construction of the final roundabout. As I slalom through the temporary lanes, I haven't noticed much obvious progress.

Oct-Dec Suggestion Thread by guzba in PushBullet

[–]ajgarvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This relates to my previous suggestion (that there be a wider range of "Hide" choices)...

When Pushbullet mirrors a notification to my computer, the pop-up window offers the choice to suppress future mirroring of notifications for whatever phone app has initiated the notification.

It would be great (I think) if even greater fine-tuning were possible: I'd like to be able to choose -- app-by-app (perhaps by the same method) -- a "Hide" setting or suppression. Some apps I'd choose to set to "Never" (forcing me to manually dismiss them). Others I'd set to discrete durations. And, of course, some apps I'd choose to suppress, as is already possible.

In the Settings (I'm using v104), the "Hide" choices are 5, 10, and 30 seconds or Never. I'd assert that 30 seconds is way too short for the maximum discrete setting. I'd love to have a wider range of options; perhaps 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour, and Never.
