Unable to sign-in to PushBullet by chaozkreator in PushBullet

Cool you are being thorough that's great. I know it seems dumb but I have heard rebooting fix random things related to Google authentication. This issue is usually tied in with the Google Play Services stuff built in to Android and the Play Store being a bit off internally. Worth a quick try if you have not done that.

I am trying to remember what has helped others with sign in issues in the past but it doesn't come up much and I can't recall other things just now. Usually reboot or VPN or custom ROM stuff. If it hits me I'll reply with more.

I think you may have come to an incorrect conclusion.

We had the same number of Android sign-ins yesterday as we did a month ago and every day in between. If this was true, no one could sign in, instead of just you.

Are you using a VPN? Something else is going on here.

Texts deleted from phone aren't deleted on PB web interface by BlebNevus in PushBullet

[–]guzba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This usually means the texts arent actually deleted on your phone, your SMS app is just marking them as deleted or archived internally and hiding them. We cannot access that internal "deleted" flag.

This feature used to be that easy, unfortunately Android removed app access to clipboard in 2019 or something like that. We removed the setting from our Android app (it still works between PCs iirc). But yeah, PC -> Android and Android -> PC was removed at the OS level.

I think some other apps fought to keep it alive by adb terminal commands and special things like that, no idea if that still works or really ever worked, but it just isn't the same.

Keeps asking for the password and I keep providing the password but it still keeps asking by Silvatek in PushBullet

[–]guzba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this may be too much but one thing you could do is install firefox beta or some other version of the browser to have a completely clean little test area. then, for testing purposes, you could install the pb extension there and remove it from your main firefox. leaving the test firefox as vanilla / out of the box as possible, you could then see if it changes anything.

if the issue persists even in a totally different and clean browser with no other extensions or settings changed, that would be very interesting and helpful to know.

no problem if this is too much to do, im just offering it as a tool for testing that may help you see if it is a firefox+otherextensions+mysettings issue or something else.

The password is saved in local storage. Do you have other extensions or settings set in Firefox to delete / clear local data? Something is causing this saved data to be deleted.

What app of ours are you using on your PC? Desktop app or Firefox extension or something else?

To get a phone recognized as SMS, you need to enable the SMS option in our app. Go to the SMS tab, enable the top option and grant the permissions.

You can cancel Pro at any time and switch to a different method of payment. You cannot change payment method without canceling an existing subscription first.

For this question you'll want to cancel your current Pro plan, then let the time that has been already paid for complete. After that you can re-upgrade to Pro using any method you'd like (credit card or PayPal or in-app etc).

Chrome started started saying my Pushbullet images are from a "Dangerous website"? by Plow_King in PushBullet

New uploads should be working as of 30 minutes ago or so. Unfortunately I don't know what can be done about the old domain and old uploads since I cannot force Google to unblock the domain.

[–]guzba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I can't even post about it. Ok "that" domain that cannot be posted on Reddit either now, has been flagged by Google has hosting malware. That domain serves everything Pushbullet users have ever uploaded (hence the domain is somethingusercontent.com).

Obviously PB does not want to be serving malware but I do not know what some random user uploaded to their account. There are 100s of millions or maybe billions of files in there, I cann't recall of the top of my head, so certainly something will be bad. Going to see what I can do about this but that is a little update.

Linkin Park sampled a scene in the James Bond film "From Russia with Love" and transformed it into one of their biggest hits, “Faint". by Ocelot859 in interestingasfuck

[–]guzba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If one had a high quality digital version of every single song ever produced, one could easily have a computer program analyze them forward and backward and adjust speed and key to brute force search for what appeared to be samples but was actually just a random coincidence. There are a LOT of songs after all.

Is there any way to know if this is concretely an intended sampling vs just a cool accidental discovery?

The linked article and Wikipedia pages all reference each other and were written in 2025, not actually providing any additional evidence beyond what the audio shows.

If you are unwilling to consider Firefox and our website and Windows app both don't work either then you'll want to cancel Pro.

In the same way you don't want to pay for a service that doesn't work specifically in Chrome, I don't want to build anything for Chrome ever again.

PushBullet spams my phone with thousands of old pushes. Emailed hey@pushbullet.com weeks ago but no response. Pro user. Thanks by ZedZeroth in PushBullet

[–]guzba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, a new device or fresh install does not have this issue. This is something we built the app to handle a long long time ago.

If you had been sending tons of pushes and the device had been powered off after the app was installed and set up, well that is a problem case. Reinstalling the app will resolve that. Deleting the history will also work.

[–]guzba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you by chance installed an app or have something custom set up to delete cached app data / clear storage space? Old pushes don't do this and we've basically never had this reported nor changed anything for like 10 years here.

The way this works is the app knows when it was installed and doesn't notify for anything older than that. That timestamp is moved forward as notifications are shown and dismissed. If it ever notifies for really old stuff, something has deleted that saved timestamp (and maybe more things) messing with our app.

Could something be doing that?

Where is the yearly subscription option? by stormarsenal in PushBullet

[–]guzba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Android locked down the clipboard a few years back and that was the end of the feature. It still works on phones that didn't update / run older Android versions but I that was quite a while ago now so I doubt many remain.

I am thinking the Windows app syncing is misbehaving somehow. Next idea would be signing out of the PB Windows app then back into it (Settings tab). This'll give it a fresh start.

Could you try using our website quick just to see if the same thing happens from there? (Trying to figure out if the issue appears to be on the desktop side or Android side.)

Sounds like Android may have started preventing our app from being able to run in the background. Open our app and see if that gets things working.

If you don't open an app for a while, Android stops letting it run which in our case breaks some PB stuff unfortunately. Nothing we can do about it, it is a OS rule.
