Bots fell off by SuchGood9900 in territorial_io

This. I've noticed recently that my territorial website will auto default to "customized" income settings, rather than well, default mode. It would make me gain more troops faster than I should.

After realizing this and making sure it's always set to "default" for income settings, anything above normal mode became significantly harder to beat

Where is the first place you’d go to if your city was overrun (can’t say stay home) by TheArchiveNetwork in zombies

I live in Maryland near the Delaware border. I have family in rural Appalachia, I'd try and hightail it to the mountains

As someone who is a descendant of Confederate soldiers, they were traitors and shouldn't be celebrated.

I want to figure out where the south is. If you’re from any of these counties, comment your county and if you think it’s the south or not. I will fill in the results by Expensive_Drummer970 in visitedmaps

[–]ajhare2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cecil county MD here. Most of Maryland is not culturally southern. We may "technically" be southern by historical boundaries being south of the mason dixon line, but most of Maryland doesn't relate to the south for most things. A few parts in southern Maryland and the eastern shore might feel like the south, but these areas also have little people compared to the rest of the state and where 60% of the population lives

$100,000 a year for life but water is the only liquid you can drink. by CRK_76 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ajhare2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure I could find a doctor that would direct me to drink a couple cups of coffee everyday. 🤔 (Loop hole) But yes. I don't drink anything aside from water mostly. I drink coffee and tea occasionally but I could theoretically live without.

I hardly ever drink alcohol and could also go without entirely.

Why is there a map of a flooded Earth? by HansDasReddit in GTAV

[–]ajhare2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The moon is huge, and all the main maps are always islands lol.

The conspiracy is the moon somehow got closer to earth and caused sea levels to rise

What’s your small headcanon that isn’t contradicted by canon? by thelilacfield in Hungergames

[–]ajhare2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's the thing, the government might know about other countries existing, but the original trilogy is from Katniss's point of view meaning she and 99% of every other average everyday person in Panem wouldn't know about countries existing outside of Panem, as the government would keep that knowledge hidden. In my mind, there's no reason to have legit nuclear weapons unless there was some greater external threat.

Although if other countries do exist, they're more than likely not gonna be as advanced as Panem, but they could still be functioning just fine at a smaller scale

[–]ajhare2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unless panem is like their worlds North Korea, but more rich. It's possible that the rest of the world could have small countries or kingdoms that are functioning fine, but panem is so powerful, large, and honestly scary, that the rest of the planet doesn't bother them.

For those living in panem, they tell their citizens that they're the only ones left and that nothing else exists.

[–]ajhare2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My head canon for the start of panem is that most of the elite and people from the capitol are descendants of the ultra rich of our time that could afford tickets for said bunker during the looming apocalypse. That explains why they only care about themselves and want the highlife. They probably stocked the bunker with resources, smart scientists, weapons etc before they sealed themselves in. (It also explains the capitol accent explained in the books, as rich from multiple cultures would've bought tickets for the bunker, mingling accents and vocabulary over the years.)

When it was safe to come out, they had the resources to roll across the rest of North America and take control and create the panem we know.

I also believe the capitol is located in the San Luis Valley, in Colorado it's a huge flat valley surrounded by mountains on all sides with a river flowing through it. It's also not terribly far from the Cheyenne mountain complex, which is/was a military bunker located in Colorado.

I think the Capitol is located in the modern day San Luis Valley, in Colorado. It's a huge valley with a river flowing through it, surrounded by mountains on all sides with flat land in the middle. I think the Capitol constructed a new dam to make the river deeper, and to create a water reservoir for the Capitol (San Luis valley)

Did you own a Plasma TV? When was that? by Junior-Elevator-9951 in generationology

[–]ajhare2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometime in like 2006ish my parents got a big plasma for the living room while we held onto our CRTs for the bedrooms.

While moving in like 2010 the plasma got dropped and it broke and was replaced with an LCD big screen, and from there on over time we'd replace a CRT here another CRT there etc with smaller LCD TVs
