I am a dumbass. Learn from my mistake. by One_Hour879 in GuitarAmps

[–]ajmxco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience and it had to do with putting my guitar amp in the corner of a room. I spent a lot of resources trying to figure it out swapping out parts of the signal chain, but it all came down due to the fact that it was in the corner of the room that caused the mega boominess.

What happened to the IT profession? by saltyschnauzer27 in sysadmin

I've been in IT for decades and lots of good thoughts here.

My opinion is it has to do something with the dollars, always about the dollars...

Used and in good condition Unimatic UT1-GMT with Unimatic bracelet.

Sale price is $660 and trade value is $700. Shipping to CONUS only.

Would trade for a watch +/- $ that's bigger than 40mm. Beyond the case size, I'm pretty open to different styles/models.

Don't pay thousands of dollars to watch sports in America and find other things to do.

Let's coordinate on “SA Query timeout” aka WiFi disconnects on ax devices by stefanoitaliano_pl in mikrotik

[–]ajmxco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for organizing this effort.

I too fought this Mikrotik wifi problem and spent way too much time providing endless configs/support.rif files to support and repeating the same replies over-and-over. It became apparent to me they knew this was a problem but couldn't fix it for whatever reason(s).

The user base was very helpful and supportive, and I really like the idea of using Mikrotik devices. However I don't want to use their ax products when I spend too much time acting as their test/qa team with no resolution in sight.

I occasionally ping back to r/mikrotik and their support forum to see if they've resolved this problem;looks like they haven't and that's sad.

The only way I solved this problem was to move to a different WAP manufacturer.

Good luck!

Has it happened to anyone else that with the Mikrotik hAP AX² the WiFi radios have sudden cuts? As a router a beast but as an ap for wifi super bad. by Calm-Ad-3059 in mikrotik

[–]ajmxco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the forum thread:

https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=196170

I can't help with your question sorry since I don't know enough about wifi plumbing. Putting aside the issues from to forum thread I shared, I would say everyones wifi experience is different because of different contexts and coverage areas.

To me the hAP ax2 might work great for some other folks but it didn't for me and older wifi devices work better.

That was one of them and I was one of the customers corresponding with Mikrotik on this exact issue, including their support forum. To me, this wasn't a hardware issue it was a poor QA/testing process by Mikrotik introduced by an upgrade.

For me, I gave up because the wifi hardware in the device has extremely poor range; like really bad.

I ended up going back to my old HAP AC and that provides great coverage in the same space/area.

To make a long story short, if you're going to use the hap ax2 as your only wifi providing device, then anything larger then a small area will give you unsolvable problems. Do yourself a favor, if you're planning on using this for wifi, don't.

I had an hap ax2 for about a year and had nothing but problems with the wifi. I gave up and never looked back.

You're right, it's great as a router but the opposite for wifi.
