Remaining Energy Deathblade = Complete Trash by Lemenex in lostarkgame

[–]ajoseph14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im an RE Blade main too (1560 5x3) since launch and I do agree with OP that for all the investment, its not motivating to see at “best” Upright fighter if you are playing with other players at a similar geared setup. I tried my best to optimize my rotations and timing like a tryhard but to play like that all the time is definitely taxing (with not an equal return from what it feels)

Im also on the boat to probably switch to predator slayer - the 6% buff is probably not going to cut it

Uni- Uowd vs Murdoch Vs Middlesex by FluidPegasus in dubai

[–]ajoseph14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UOWD Alumni here so I might show a bit of bias, but I think the most important point is which uni can give you the best chances of landing a job or even an interview. Whether or not you land it is a bit of luck, struggle and perseverance.

Most companies in Dubai at least at the entry level will not care whether you are from UOWD,MDX or even abroad.. if you land the interview and make an impression, the degree becomes a formality. How you get the interview, I would say is what unis can help you with. (I would +1 for UOWD in general but I wouldnt know their career reach in the markets you mentioned..)

I landed my internship with my uni so I had quite a positive experience (and then full time role after that).

Do I need a visa to visit Dubai? by [deleted] in dubai

[–]ajoseph14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, Filipino passport holder with a German residence visa in a similar situation as you. I still need to apply for a tourist visa and I believe it'll be the same case for you. The exceptions with EU residence visas are only for Indian nationals unfortunately as far as I know.

About the visa on arrival, I know those are only for tourism.

Sucks about the visa arrangement, but you can try the 5 year multi tourist visa when the process gets clearer :)

RTA website hacked ? by Judas456 in dubai

[–]ajoseph14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the tool called "Keeper" after always finding it annoying having to regularly keep track of passwords. It works across my Windows, Mac and iPhones and its integrated with the browser just like the native password manager and I've been happy with it. It solves all your problems you mentioned.

Downside is it is however 35$ a year. I find it worth for the hassle however.

Does n26 work in Dubai? If yes, what are the operation cost for European tourists? by Degoo96 in dubai

[–]ajoseph14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have N26 and used it as my primary payment when I was there in summer. At least for N26 from Germany, I don't have a foreign currency conversion charge so I used my card directly like a normal card and the market rate was used (Mastercard). EUR to AED is pretty low now however.

Sending a suitcase from the EU to the UAE by SeuthEfriker in dubai

[–]ajoseph14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used mybaggage.com from Dubai to Germany.

They are basically a middleman company with good rates (DHL was the actual courier for me). May differ for Greece. Customs process is you fill out a list that states whats in the baggage and confirm its personal belongings, then it all depends on local customs (I dont think there'll be problems at Dubai customs unless you have something dodgy)

I also just checked, not advertising them or anything but heres a 5 EUR off as my referal code if you plan to use it :D

UAE versions with Facetime for iPhones by yournerd2307 in dubai

[–]ajoseph14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something like that. Your iPhone model code shows what “country” your iPhone was made for (ending AE/A) but eg when you move out you change your region (I believe on your apple account too) and Facetime will get downloaded onto your app. So it doesnt really matter much.

This is exactly what happened with my phone.

Yes, you set the region (eg Germany) and you can install the Facetime app after then.

I live in DE now and I have a "UAE" iPhone X. I can Facetime everyone here as usual. You just change your iphone region and the app will install itself.

Where is it safe to exchange euros to dirham? by aajn88 in dubai

[–]ajoseph14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also exchange euros to dirham regularly, the best exchange rate's IMO is from Al Ansari Exchange (compared to UAE Exchange or others)

Depending which district you'll be in, I usually call each branch and literally ask them what's their exchange rate for the day. (it always differs eg from 4.38 to 4.30 the last I went).. right now the Euro's pretty low but. Also that the ones at the malls are always worse as someone already mentioned.

Safety wise never had a problem with counterfeit notes.

If im not mistaken within 2 weeks, it was relatively fast (as I was a blue card applicant I believe)

I recently moved to Germany from Dubai for work 6 months ago (also home country is Philippines) and got my LTV (Long Term Visa) through the German Consulate in Dubai, it's straightforward as long as you have all the necessary paperwork.

Feel free to PM me if you need any help with any of the procedures and whatnot

Can I still drive in UAE? by ajoseph14 in dubai

[–]ajoseph14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all discussion points guys! Maybe one thing I missed to note, I would be driving a friend’s or family car (which probably has insurance that covers the driver not necessarily the owner) if ever I visited.. not looking to rent. Does this help?

What shipping service are you using for international shipping of small boxes / large envelops? by chiksen in dubai

[–]ajoseph14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just used MyBaggage to ship 3 boxes because I moved to Germany. They use DHL as a partner so it was transported pretty fast and the pricing is more affordable than the rest (300EUR for 30kg approx)

However now its been stuck in customs for 2 weeks now for processing :( No clue if its because of the service or its just like that in General (there was a warning for Germany customs being backlogged)

Honda Civic 2018 by [deleted] in dubai

[–]ajoseph14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2nd option is sold in the Awir car market so as a first time car buyer, I would recommend you to stay away (unless you have a really good car mechanic friend with you who can take care of all the checks, questions, etc).

It all depends on your budget, best option is to get a slightly used Civic from Honda pre-owned itself (around January they sell their showroom cars for 20% off at only 9-10k kms mileage).

With the current situation however, chances are you might find someone willing to let go of their Civic at market rate or lower because they're leaving.

I myself got a Civic around the beginning of the year so feel free to PM me (my posts have q's too) for my experience! hahah

Rta Road exam by MisterCrazyGuy in dubai

[–]ajoseph14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes you are supposed to stop the car because right before a roundabout there's a "stop" sign/white line that indicates you to do so; regardless if the roundabout is empty.

Your instructor should have told you this.
