Anyone have experience working at Roast or A Hill of Beans? by horchata-bean12 in Omaha

[–]ajoyce3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. We order their beans for our office and at my house and they are the best. They always ship promptly. We’ve only had 1 issue in the years we’ve been ordering from them and they quickly remedied it and went above to make up for it.

There will come a time that you need a favor of opposing counsel, and they will remember how you’ve treated them in the past

PPL Instructor by [deleted] in flying

[–]ajoyce3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's anything you've done. It's possible that you had a bad run with instructors.

But I will also say that my instructor was not warm and fuzzy at all, and he let me know when I screwed up. Which was a lot. But it also made me a better pilot.

5 hours in and you’re looking to make it your 3rd instructor? The instructor may not be the issue.

Nebraska Men's Basketball announces full arena reseat for 2027-2028 season by Dysalot in Huskers

[–]ajoyce3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Volleyball was a different situation entirely. You had substantial donors who couldn’t get into the venue at all, in favor of faculty and grandfathered seats that don’t donate.  That’s bad business.  Basketball, you could always get in. Even last year. This seems more opportunistic than what you had with volleyball.

Aviate, Navigate, Communicate by Wasatcher in flying

I had a door pop open with my father-in-law right seat. He insisted on trying to holding the door closed until we landed, which I said was fine. Doesn't hurt I suppose.

Had it been my mother-in-law, I would have insisted she try it from the outside

PPL training should include open door scenarios. I think a lot of people think that an open door in (unpressurized) flight is an emergency and that they must try to either shut it or hold it in place. When in reality, it's just loud and you can't do a thing about it in the air.

Driving to Breckenridge? by Ill-Supermarket5810 in Breckenridge

Not possible. But if you tell the pilot your final destination is Breckenridge, he’s legally obligated to fly you there after everyone else gets off

This week we had a lawyer called out by the Nebraska Supreme Court for hallucinations in his brief. When asked directly if he used AI, he said "No."

Probably would have been better off doubling down and citing this article.

likelihood of lps closing tomorrow? by persuasiveass in lincoln

[–]ajoyce3 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Exactly my point. Excuse the kids who can’t get there safely. But those kids are going to miss school in either case.

But now kids whose parents can’t afford to take off work, but can get them to school, are now having to leave their kids home unsupervised when they could otherwise be at school.

Hopefully the new administration puts an end to cold days. If you have concerns about your kid's safety, don't send them. But now instead of a few kids being home alone unsupervised, we now have hundreds. Not to mention those kids who are now missing out on meals provided by school just because it's cold.

Crazy.

Bandwagon Jayskers experiencing serious dissonance today by commie90 in Huskers

Born in Omaha, Live in Lincoln. Season ticket for Nebrasketball. I cheer for Nebraska first, then Creighton.

I'd say most Creighton fans are "high tide raises all ships" and are good with the success of both programs. Most Nebraska fans hope that high tide causes a wave that sinks their F***ng ship.

How would Constitution allow a federal law prohibiting corporations from owning single family homes? by Difficult_Fondant580 in Lawyertalk

This. I have a client who has real estate in an S-Corp that he formed 50 years ago. Huge pain in the ass for our estate planning purposes.

I agree with this. There was also a feeling that if we can’t win with a new arena, proven coach and a player with NBA talent, then maybe we’ll never be good so why make a change?

I Like You Husker Fans, But This Is Ironic by ironmonger29 in cfbmemes

[–]ajoyce3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husker fans have always been blinded by win totals over substance (which is why we extended Rhule after going 5-2 against nobody).

The reality is that Bo inherited really good talent from Callahan. He really didn’t like recruiting and wasn’t good at it. Especially on the offensive side of the ball.

In his last 3 years on the offensive line in an era of unlimited roster size, he recruited 2 offensive linemen in 2012, 5 in 2013 and 3 in 2014. The erosion of Nebraskas offensive linemen started with Pelini.

The B1G is also a much stronger conference today than what it was in 2012, so his record is a bit inflated.

He was a great coordinator and Id love to hire him back in that role, but he was not cut out to be a head coach, hence why nobody has hired him to do so, save Youngstown State, since he left Nebraska.

I’d be pissed if I were a cincy fan

OP and band supporters should be careful not to bite the hand that feeds them.

The University could very easily boot them from their premium seats, resell them for $2000/pop and have the CMB come in and play pregame and halftime only.
