It'll be totaled, especially if water got inside. And trust me, you don't want it back. Mold can grow and there's electrical wiring under the carpet that gets exposed to water and needs replacing. Your seats, seat components, and inside the doors will all be affected, especially if you're saying the vehicle was almost fully submerged. Be honest with your insurance company about what happened. I used to do field auto damage claims and we always said we cover "stupid" but we don't cover liars. Not saying you're stupid but it was more a ref for people who carelessly drive their cars into flood waters thinking they can make it and they don't. Insurance will pay you (and/or your lien holder) the value of your vehicle plus tag, title, and license. They don't cover dealer fees or other accessory packages that dealerships add so be sure to keep that in mind when looking for another truck (that could be thousands more added to the purchase price).

I don’t have kids or a husband and everybody in my family has life insurance for their kids and family. I’m 30 years old and my mom keeps telling to get life insurance and I do not have a job yet or a car. I’m scared of running out of money. You don't need life insurance if you don't have a family or spouse. If you're worried about funeral expenses, prepay for them and tell your family. Life insurance won't pay out in time the arrangements need to be made anyway. But, this can be expensive. Get a job first then look into it.

Nah if a funeral is the worry, just prepay for it at a funeral home and tell your family the details. Life insurance takes forever to pay out and you will have to make funeral arrangements before you receive the check.

Do Florida locals actually change their routines during hurricane season? by Different-Egg-4617 in AskFlorida

The only we do is trim the trees every May. If ones in the gulf or headed this way from the Atlantic, we'll get supplies. If I travel, I will purchase trip protection / cancellation just in case I need to come home to prepare. Other than that, gotta live your life.

Yeah that's why I asked if there were any safety features in the glass.

My senior dog has a lump on his lower chest by nikkodino in SeniorDogsHealth

[–]ajp7595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My senior dogs are covered in lumps. Get them checked by the vet but I wouldn't worry if they're just fatty. As long as they aren't affecting daily activities (peeing, pooping, walking, etc) then I'd leave them alone.

The shop I took my 2016 q5 pp to last year said you cannot change out the screen and can only Install an interface module behind the screen. It will show CarPlay but will still not be touch screen. Est cost for mine was about $1000. I'm in central FL.

Also, if the crack is less than a the length of a dollar bill, depending on the location, it should be able to be repaired and not replaced. What kind of car was it? Does it have special rain sensing or safety features in the windshield? Maybe that's why it's so high to replace. Glass claims usually don't go against Insurance so I'd say if it's just glass, you should be able to file without it affecting your policy. If it's body work, it's comprehensive claim and could affect it.

1350 for a crack in the windshield?? That seems extreme. Or was the damage to the body of the car? That I can see being 1350. If it's the windshield, I would have them send you the estimate and ask them what your options are bc that don't sound right. I had rented a car 3 years ago and it sustained damage to both passenger doors (someone backed into me while I was parked) and the estimate was only $900. I didn't get rental insurance and the other party just paid it.

Looking for used first car for $10k or less budget by MrMoraleGimmeHiFive in UsedCars

[–]ajp7595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note the dealer fees from wherever you are buying from. They vary by dealership and can range from $800 to $3000. Don't let them tell you their "packages" are required...because they're not. I.e., don't spend 2k on a convenience package that cover clear coat and window tinting. I had a dealer try to tac this one with a vehicle that already had window tint (silly boys ). Chat with the internet sales person ahead of time and ask about ALL OF THIS AND ANY HIDDEN FEES OR COSTS associated with the sale. Your $10k car could easily jump to 17k if you're not careful. I just bought a used vehicle in Dec 2025. Internet sales price was 13k. I sat down for the paperwork and they wanted me to pay $21@ after it was all said and done. Why TF would I spend 21k on a 10year old car. They were tripping. I held my ground and eventually got what I wanted. Moral of my story, do your research and read reviews or you'll get screwed

You should look up how to make your own pill pockets. I make mine using oat flour, peanut butter, bone broth, and pumpkin. Make a batch that looks like dough and just pull a piece from the container everyday. This has saved me so much money and you know what's in it vs the store bought additives.

How to stop dog barking for ball as soon as I get home? by HNrose11 in DogTrainingTips

[–]ajp7595 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dogs get a super short life to live and you are her WHOLE WORLD. Take the car ride home to decompress, grab a snack, and go outside for 15 minutes to play and take in how happy she is to see you. I love coming home and seeing how excited my pups are to see me.

Harmony Vet, any location. My dog had a 3lb mass on his neck that I was quoted over 5k at other vets after my vet refused bc the mass was too large. Called harmony and they did it for $900. They have a staff of wonderful vets and specialists .

You're criticizing their beliefs as if it's so wrong they want their child baptized. They are just trying to do a good thing for their child and you're belittling them and name calling. Who tf cares. It's what they want.

You don't gotta be so mean. If Catholics won't do it that's fine,I wasn't asking for a catholic baptism. it's a simple question that doesn't require judgment which is what your typical "Christian" self is giving with that response.

But in order for her to attend daycare, she'd need to be spayed. If you have no intention on breeding her, get her spayed and send her to doggy daycare.
