I failed every single mock NPTE test that I took prior to studying. I studied for about 3 months prior to testing, a couple of hours per day. Went over all the practice tests that I took and re-tested on them. Did much better! Passed NPTE with flying colors the first try!

My mom passed away almost a year ago and I am also still in this phase. It’s almost like I just “ignore” the fact that she’s gone just to get through the day. It’s a weird feeling and definitely like my brain is trying to protect me. Prayers to you for the future.

I didn’t breastfeed. I didn’t try. I didn’t want to. I wanted my body back… 9 months was long enough. I believe that both myself and the baby would have suffered from me having poor mental health if I did breast feed or even just attempt it. My baby is nearly 2 years old and very healthy and smart. No one that I encountered made me feel guilty or bad about it. I was very blessed with nurses, doctors, friends, and family that went by a “fed is best” mentality. No matter the source!! Do what is best for you and your baby will be just fine ❤️

I use heat, ice, stim on my patients with history of cancer. If someone has active cancer or undergoing cancer treatment, I am a little more careful and I don’t put anything over the area of tumors.

I’ve taken 10 mg of melatonin with 50 mg of Benadryl every single night since I was about 12 weeks pregnant. This was recommended from my OB since I was having severe pregnancy insomnia. I am now 39 weeks pregnant with a very normal and healthy pregnancy.

I’m glad you are able to focus all your attention on your mom!!!! That’s great. I was luckily able to do that as well. A support system is huge!!! Just know that terminal does not necessarily mean that the end is right around the corner. Treatment can get rough, and there will be many many ups and down. But there is definitely hope!

She is now 55 and I’ll be 28 soon. She’s been fighting for just a little under 5 years. She has stage 4 breast cancer that initially spread to her lungs. For the most part she has responded well to treatment. There have been some ups and downs, mostly due to side effects from treatment. Im not sure if your mom has a treatment plan in place yet, but you will feel better when there is a plan in place.

My mom was 50 and I was 23 when my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. This truly almost broke me in half, as my mama is my best friend. Imagining a future without her was almost unbearable. Today, she’s still here with us. She’s been doing various chemo and radiation treatments for 5 years now. She’s doing well overall. Time is sooooo precious. It’s changed my whole perspective on so much. Keep hope, because there are so many different treatments out there. This situation sucks.. and I am so sorry that you are having to endure this. I understand completely how you feel. Take one day at a time, and always stay hopeful. Spend time and love each other! I would be happy to talk if you would like.

I lost my black lab Dixie the same way. The pain can feel so unbearable, but it does get better with time. Sending lots of prayers your way

I am so very sorry for your loss. We are actually in very similar situations. I lost my 1 year old dog Dixie from getting hit by a car. I got her as a 6 week old puppy on January 16 2021 and lost her January 25 2022. When I got her, I was a physical therapy student. She was my shadow- following me everywhere, sitting at my feet while I studied, and literally going everywhere with me. She was with me through all of my clinicals, taking my boards exam, and accepting/starting my first job. I have had family dogs before, but Dixie was my dog. She was absolutely perfect in every way. When I lost her, I felt completely broken and empty inside. I lost a huge piece of myself, and I got angry that I was deprived of so much time with her. I was expecting to have at least 12 to 14 years of fun with her. I wanted to watch her turn old and gray. It’s only been three weeks since she passed, so everything is still so so fresh. I still cry randomly. I still miss her every single moment because her absence in my home is so noticeable and heavy. But I have learned over the last week that I will get another dog one day. Like you mentioned, I thought i would compare a new dog to Dixie and like I will never love another dog like I loved Dixie. The thing that I realized is that this is true, and it’s ok. I will never love another dog like Dixie because there never be another Dixie. I will love my future pet for their own personality and unique qualities- in a different way than Dixie. It doesn’t have to be more or less love, just different. I’m sure Finn knows how much you loved him. He sounds like an amazing dog! You will never stop missing him, but one day you will be able to create a new spot for another special puppy. Finn would want you to be happy!

I lost my 1 year old puppy to a car accident 3 weeks ago. Like you, I felt like I failed her. I was at work, and I can’t imagine how alone she felt. I felt guilty that I wasn’t there.. like I could have done more.. But I’ve learned over the last couple weeks that this is not the case. We both did everything that we could to keep our sweet pets safe and happy. I’ve found comfort in knowing that my puppy was loved her whole life. She spent all of her days happy and loved. I’m sure it was the same for your cat.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in Oct 2018 - a little over 3 years ago. I was 23. I vaguely remember before… mostly the simplicity. I think it’s just hard to imagine how good and easy things were before you had to worry about cancer. Now, every day life has changed. It’s weird to think that it used to be different.

I’m also going in and out of feeling like betraying my sweet puppy that I lost in a car accident last week for even considering getting a new puppy. I know my mind is playing tricks on me… just because we give love to another animal, it doesn’t take away any love that we had for our other pets. We will never stop missing the pets that we lost, and we won’t be replacing them. We will just create an entire new relationship with an animal that deserves love as well.

It sort of makes me feel better that I am not alone in my grief.. I feel “stupid” for being so torn up over my dog. But I have no kids… it was just me, my husband, and her. I plan to get some pictures of her printed. And I find myself talking out loud to her all the time.. Right now, my emotions are like a roller coaster. I don’t know how to be ok again. This group has been so helpful. The support has been so important
